I loved how they smelled like baby powder when you first got them
Love that! My sister's is a premie boy and and you can STILL smell a hint of baby powder on his head.

I got lucky- my Grandpa was the VP of logestics for JC Penny- so my parents got cabage patch kids for me and all their friends kids
and as thanks- my Jewish Best Friend told me there was no Santa!
( since she got hers first- I said Santa was bringing mine- then she told me my Grandpa got it and there is no Santa- on our way to gymnastics right as we turned onto 25A- I will never forget it)

Mine!! Her name was Alona Melina! And then I got a premie - Sparky Gallagher.
We also have pics of me opening them. I was balling my eyes out bc I was so happy!

Yup!! My Mom & Aunt went to get 1 each for me & my sister!
This is the same one I had!! Her name was Edith Ann!! (My aunt got this one & named her after Grandma!!)

My daughter now has my " Eric Michael" in her toybox. Mom says she fought to get him 25 years ago

OMG- DH and I were JUST Talking about the Cabbage Patch phenomena yesterday!
We saw all the idiots at Target waiting out in the rain for the past 2 days for the PS3. My husband remaked- "who the hell would wait this long for a friggin' TOY" and I reminded him of the Cabbage Patch bettles our mothers went through.....

My godmother worked for Montgomery Ward back then so she was able to get one for me. I remember when we went to her house...I saw it in the living room and was practically drooling for it, but I didn't know if it was mine so I didn't say anything. I was so excited when she gave it to me.

I remember the year they were hughe, I got a premie and a regular ? one, my dad when I opened them (after standing online w/ mom for I think it was 13 hours) said " If you lose this, I'll kill ya". Merrry Xmas to you to bud.

This was going on when I was 15, so I wasn't really interested in the doll..
But, I went to Europe that year, and went into a toy store in France, and there was a WHOLE WALL of them!!!
We brought one back for my cousin, and she named it Jaque Pierre

OH GOD I remember ...My poor parents ... They got it for my Birthday.. Her name was Doreena Harmony ...then I had Raina Brooke and I forgot my preemies name it was a boy ... ummmm total blank for him !

Mine did....mine was names Yolonda and she was the bald one with the little tiny patch of blonde hair in the center of her head..my brother had eric.. we still have the video of us opening them up on christmas..i was so excited, my mom said "show daddy what you got" since he had the camera and i guess i didn't get that concept because i ran past the camera and tapped him on the back to show him
