You always ends up with bills...well often. Call your insurance company and ask them what its about, they can help.

I think it took the hospital 3 or 4 months to send me my bill.

That may be your co-pay. We got the bill for our co-pay ($300.00) when Christopher was 14 months old

Good Sam sent me a bill 6 months after my son was born - and I am still fighting it with the hospital/insurance company.

Dumb question... Are you supposed to get a bill? If not for getting a private room, is it not all covered?
Not like we'd return the product or have to save our tax check but am I that naive that I think it's all covered? When I notified my insurance that I was pregnant, they said there would be no out of pocket expenses.

You will probably get an EOB (explination of benefits) even if insurance says it is all covered.
I only had to pay a $300 copay, but the bill of my vaginal delivery was $13k+
I will say that we did have a problem with DS' circumcision (GHI thought my DH was getting one, not my DS ) but it was covered, we just had to send in his BC.

Yep. We didn't even realize that we would owe for part of his NICU stay. We got the bill over a year later, for $1,000. The hospital blames our insurance company but I think they were both slow to do anything.

My husband works for the insurance company, he said that the providers i.e hospitals, doctors, have 1 year (depending on your plan) from the date of service to submit their claims. My DD went to the ER last March and we still haven't seen the EOB of her visit. We did receive the bill for the the MD's portion. Of course it didn't go through the insurance because our insurance is with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue here in CT and when the MD's office submitted it to the NY BCBS, they didn't include a certain code that is included with the ID #.
I think it also depends on how quickly the hospitals billing department submits it to the insurance company.
