Why are YOU a good Mom?

I was thinking about this and wanted to get others feedback. I had the night from he!! last night(Declan cried for 3 hours straight and when I finally got him to sleep Ronan woke up and woke him up AGAIN!)

I read to my boys-and buy them new books i think they will like whenever I see them
I pump even when I am traveling(picture me in a car, hand pumping, driving with my knee, sometimes following colleagues to appointments)
I talk to them all day long
I make up silly songs for them
I try to hold them both at one time so no one feels left out.
I love them beyond measure

I could use improvement with my frustration when they are fussy. Working on it

Because I absolutely adore her, even though she can be a difficult, "spirited" child. I've learned to appreciate and fully accept who she is, instead of being jealous of mommies with easy children, and think about all the wonderful things she will do in her life and will accomplish with that incredible fire in her belly.

Because I'm strong enough to discipline her, consistently, even though deep inside, it kills me.

Because I make every effort to raise her to be compassionate, empathetic, care about others, and most important, be confident in herself and stand up for herself in a healthy way.

Because I give her my undivided attention when I come home from work and on the weekends, and make one day a week our "special" day, by planning something really fun for just the two of us.

Because I sneak in cookies and treats when Daddy isn't watching

Because as much as I feel guilty sometimes that I work full-time and love it, at the same time, I know I am giving her such an incredible gift as a role model to a little girl, showing her that she CAN have it all when she grows up, the perfect husband, perfect family and perfect job.

Because I proudly say to her and everyone else that my marriage comes first, which it does, and in doing so, I'm giving her what I think is the best gift you can give to a child - an example of a prioritized, loving, caring, giving, selfless marriage.

And, last, because I married a man who is probably the best daddy on earth to her

I'll Play..I hope i am a good mommy, I really try.

*I try to look at the world from DS perspective to see what he sees, and make it as nice as possible for him.
*Even though he goes to day care full time, I make sure he gets very good quality one on one time with us EVERY day, even if it means other errands or the "to do" list have to wait.
*I hug, hold and love him like noone else in the world.

I could make a list a mile long but it boils down to one thing.

Well, I like to think Im a good mom.
I to sing the strangest songs to him (Im not so good but he likes it). I will rock him to sleep when he is a screaming lunatic (not often but lately more times then not). I try to teach him everything, "this is blue the color of the sky" when I fold laundry I bring him with me and count towels and socks etc. I love him more then I thouhgt it was humanly possible to love anyone. I actaully thought when people said I love him more then life they were crazy. I now know they are not. He is by far my best accomplishment.

Knowing and appreciating who I AM as a person helps me be the best Mom to my kiddies. After all, if Mama ain't happy nobody's happy.

I have learned that there is no cutting corners with a baby. I do what needs to be done, when it needs to be done, and laugh and smile the whole time. He is my world!

Because I love him and would so anything for him!!!

Because even though he sleeps through the night I get my *** out of bed to pump so my milk supply doesn't go down.

Because I carry him around in my arms when he's cranky even though my knees hurt from having so much weight on me.

Because I want him to grow up and be the happiest, most self fullfilled person he can be.

Because he is everything I ever dreamed I could have in a child. He is my light, my world, my every thought. And because he is everything to me, it is my goal in life to make sure he knows it every second.

1. I love her unconditionally
2. I read to her all the time
3. I play with her and sing silly songs
4. I shower her with kisses and tell her how loved she is every day
5. I encourage her to use her words and not scream or hit when she is mad
6. I let her be herself, even if that means ignoring a mother-of-all tantrum
7. I work my *** off to support her financially
8. I spend all my free time with her.

I could make a list of all the things that I think make me a good mom, but I think the most important thing I do is ...... Tell DD everyday how much I love her and make her feel really loved Everyday!!!!

I am a good mom because I am, I have no reasons to list, I believe that I do the right things for my child and I believe that the lessons I teach him through everyday life are important.

I don't think I need a list, or to see a list of anyone elses to understand why anyone is a good mother. Everyone should see themselves as a good mother full stop...

If you have to list it, well, I dunno, you just shouldn't have to.

I don't think there is anything wrong with lists-it's nice to see it in print.

I think some of these lists should be laminated and framed.

We doubt our decisions all the time, it's nice to focus on the good for a change.

As for my answer, I am a good mom because of DD. Cheesy but true. I couldn't imagine doing many of the things I do and putting in all the work and effort if not for the love of DD. I just hope she agrees when she grows up, because that is the real test.

Quite honestly, the reason I think I'm a good mom is because I do the best I can everyday.

I think my best good Mommy feature is the fact that I will drop anything and everything to play with DS and make sure he is always happy.

I could totally work on having more patience though.

becuase I haven't messed up Eryk yet... Parenting is so challenging, I consider this to be a feat....

I always joke that DS is a victim of first-time parenthood

I don't really know what makes me a good mom. I just know that I am one.

I could sit here & list the things I do for them/with them but that I don't see that as what makes someone a good mom.

I think the only way to describe it is that they are my heart & whatever I do with them/for them/without them, that part never leaves me.
