why cant t the RE use last cd3 results
to get a pre-auth for a new cycle. They took cd3 bloods a month ago for the last pre-approval. They want me to come in again this month for a new approval. I feel like its a waste of time and $$. Insurance is oxford

why wont the RE use last cd3 results
That is so frustrating. My insurance doesn't cover IVF, so I don't have any insight. I hope you can get it sorted out!

why cant t the RE use last cd3 results
Hi, I have GHI insurance and they required anyone who was 40 or older to get a cd3 blood work for Fsh level each month. If Fsh level was over a certain number ( I think 10, not positive), they usually gave a little difficulty to approve it. It was a pain because I had to get my blood drawn on cd3 for Fsh level each month in order for that ivf cycle to. Be approved. Some insurances are more demanding and require more things than other insurances. Best of luck.

You will need blood every cycle on cd3. It's to be sure you are indeed not pregnant as well as to get a baseline level of your hormones.

Insurance reasons or not cd3-5 bloodwork is unavoidable.

I'm self pay as well, and always had to do CD 3-5 b/w each cycle to rule out any pregnancy, cysts or hormonal imbalance. I guess it depends on the doctor & office.

The CD3 bloodwork is to get your baseline. They'll most likely do that no matter what. But if your insurance requires authorization for each cycle, then it might be up to the insurance whether they need it for pre-auth on a monthly basis or not.
I have Aetna and I need CD3 bloodwork every 6 months for pre-auth. So I still need to go for CD3 but my RE puts through the pre-auth request on CD1 using the previous month's baseline numbers. If that makes sense. I'd ask your RE's office if they can do that to get the ball rolling at least.
