Why is my DD getting up an hour earlier

every dayChat Icon

She used to sleep until 7 - 7:30 everyday for MONTHS. Now since she started talking she's up at 6 having a full conversation with herself. I just can't start my day that early, esp since she only naps from 1 - 2!!

Do you think its the language development? The change in seasons? a phase? THis kid is so cranky by the end of the day but going to bed earlier doesn't help!!!

She's almost 18 months.

Do you take her out of the crib? My DD does that even now (she's 21 mo) and I'll just leave her in there to talk and play alone. if/when she calls out to me, we get her. lol

My DD whose 22 months has started getting up almost an hour earlier on most days. She used to sleep until 7-7:30am and now she seems to get up around 6:15am. Even though we have room darkening shades, I think the fact that there's more early light entering the room is what causing her to wake earlier.

No I don't, but when she was waking at 7 - 7:30 I was able to keep her in there until 8. Now she starts getting antsy by 7. I'm selfish I know - but I'm 38 weeks preggo and need every bit of down time I can get these daysChat Icon

My DS has been waking up the past week or so about an hour earlier then usual. I thought it was the birds waking him but the past couple of morning, there have been no birds chirping and he's still up!!! I miss my 7-7:30 morning!

Grace used to get up at 5am! Chat Icon I was so grateful for that time change- now sometimes she is up at 6:15 and the latest, even if she is up all night like she was last week when she was sick, is 6:40am. Chat Icon

NOT selfish at all! Chat Icon

I know how it is! Hang in there. Alot of things could be bringing this on. I truly believe that children can sense when a lifechanging moment is about to embark (ie the baby coming). who knows if that's not what's bringing this about.

Hang in there mom!Chat Icon
