why won't they answer your question??? vent!

i'm trying to get my life back in order.
i'm working on my finances, so i decided to start getting my huge azz to the gym.

i called this weekend, got the run around. i blamed it on a half-asleep kid answering the phone... so i'll give them another try.

today, i call. i get connected with a sales rep and i say, "i'd like to learn about membership"

she says that they don't give that information over the phone. when can i come in.

the reason i'm calling is because i can't come in. my week looks really busy. please, is there ANY information you can provide.

her answer: we need you to come in

my answer: i guess this isn't going to work, i'll find a gym that will answer a basic question. and i hung up

ok, vent over.

i'll be calling their competition during my break

Unfortunately this happens at most gyms. I am not sure why. I think it is because they do not want you comparing prices. Even when you go in they will you tell you the deal they offer you then will not be good next time you come in.

They want you to go in because most people will go in and feel obligated to join. Once they have you there, it is easier to get your business than it is over the phone.
