Why would bees keep sitting on my PVC fence?

I have a PVC fence. For some reason, the last few days, bees (I think honeybees) keep coming and sitting on a crease in my fence. I am not sure if the brightness of the white is attracting them but it's odd, they are only sitting on that crease.

I am not sure if they are drinking water that may be caught in that crease. Or if they are trying to find a new place to live. They fly on and off throughout the day. Any thoughts?

Also, anything natural I can spray to discourage them from sitting there? I may just fill that crease in with clear caulking but dont want to do that yet, since I am not sure that will solve the problem.

It sounds like you have a bee hive in there. They do not need a big opening. Enough to get in and out. Inside is already hallow so they have room.

I would spray it with some sort of bee hive spray at night.

No hive that we can see....and we see them fly away and come back. Not like we see them go into the fence, kwim? I am going to try spraying something natural on it to deter bees and see what happens.

Maybe they are just "resting".Chat Icon

They could have a bee hive in the ground.
