we want to put a fence up. Any recs for who to use, or is it an easy DIY?

Our property is about .5 acres

Also I do prefer the look of wood over pvc, but is it that much more maintenance?

Are there other options? I don't want metal though.

There are also composite wood fences (like decks), they look great and are easy care, I think. However they are a LOT more expensive then a wood fence.... They have these at HD and Lowes if you want to check them out.

we got PVC for the easy maintenance. When we moved in there was a stockade fence and it was falling apart. So we spent a little extra for the PVC so we wouldn't have to deal w/ another wood fence in the future falling apart. we got PVC for the easy maintenance. Like the PP said they do make a wood composite fence but I have no idea how much it costs. We used Rose fence who gave us a reasonable price and good warranty.

We got about 10 estimates and Robert's Fence gave us the best price and their quality is really good.

We went with Precision - Highest price but best quality - Dont go with the cheapest price - there is a reason they are so cheap. The quality of the PVC and how strong the bottom support bar are very important when picking a company also the service and warranty. We are extremely happy with the service we have received.

Nothing is maintenence free. We have to clean our White PVC fence but at least u really dont have to power wash and seal it. I wash it down with a hose and then a sponge or brush with a mixture of simple green and water and then hose off. Its easy
