Why would you delay vaccines?
Is there a certain reason why you would want to do that?
Sorry, I am still learning about these things.

Re: Why would you delay vaccines?
I am delaying Hep B. I do not think my newborn needs a shot the day she is born.
I am delaying others because of exposure to too many toxins at once.

Re: Why would you delay vaccines?
We delayed a couple because we didn't want DS getting so many shots at one time (three or four - can't remember).

Re: Why would you delay vaccines?
I delay because I think the CDC's schedule is way too heavy in the first 2 years of life. I also do no more than 2 shots at a time and if they are combine shots like the DTaP then I do single shots. I also delay the Hep B because my newborn isn't having sex or a drug user. I delay the MMR just to go with the flow of autism fears because my nephew has PDD-NOS and IMO Autism is genetic. Other than that I give my kids their shots

Re: Why would you delay vaccines?
didnt want to overload DS little body with too many vaccines, so we only give two at a time. we also delayed the HEB B as i felt DS was to young to get it when he was just born. and we will be delaying the MMR and we delayed the flu shot (thank god b/c DS is allergic to egg whites)

Re: Why would you delay vaccines?
I am in the minority. I have just been following the CDC's schedule and doign what the Ped suggests. However, we have never gotten more than 2 shots per visit. DS has been perfectly fine with all of them.

Re: Why would you delay vaccines?
I havent questioned the shots BUT what was interesting....In my Drs office there is a letterhead on each room that pretty much says that they are not entertaining the idea of not giving shots so if this is the case then you need to find a new DR. I was kinda shocked. A little thankful that this wasnt my situation but I might be upset if it was the case. This is a mjor practice on LI not just one DR in an office.

Yup. Us too.
My DS got Hep B in the hospital and like I've said before it was a good thing he did b/c my DH was exposed to Hep B when Christopher was 3 months old.

Re: Why would you delay vaccines?
I do not delay vaccines but I would urge you to do your own research and decide what is right for you and your family. My dd has gotten all her shots on time, up to 3 at a time

My dr. is the same. He said he would delay the MMR a bit but if I wanted to push it past 3 he would ask me to leave the practice. He also does not break up the shots because the vaccines come in sets of 10 or something like that and he would have a lot left over because he doesn't get a lot of requests to break them up (I wasn't really happy with that explanation but at least he was honest). He is adamant about the fact that vaccines don't cause autism. ON a side note, I recently heard something about vaccines in Japan (my info may not be exactly correct) something along the lines that they delay the vaccines or break them up and autism rates are STILL on the rise.

Re: Why would you delay vaccines?
I am delaying the MMR, as long as possible and will split them up and give them 6 months apart. I wish I dlayed the Hep B vaccine. Like somone said, they do NOT need the Hep B vaccine so early, only if the mother is positive for it.
