Wierd question about ground turkey
I have groud turkey that I'm going to use to make turkey meatballs. Its been frozen since December in my freezer but when i thawed it, its a brownish color and not pick and it smells a little funny. Is that normal?

I never had that happen.
If it's brown I wouldn't chance eating it, I would definitely toss it.

warning though... that smell doesn't go away when you cook it 
pitch it.... it's not yummy any more

Yup. This happened to me last week. Made the food anyway.. tasted okay but smelled funky. gross

every time i have frozen ground turkey or chicken, it stays pink for as long as it's good. i always toss it if it looks brown, same with ground beef.
