UPDATE: Sunrise Highway is reopened. The bull was last seen near Lafayette Avenue.
Suffolk Police have shut down the eastbound lanes of Sunrise Highway at exit 58 while they try to wrangle a wild bull, according to authorities. Earlier today, police sent out an alert informing residents to stay indoors.
“Be advised there is a loose wild bull in area of Montgomery Ave/Dean St in Mastic,” the alert read.
At this time police said they do not know where the bull came from.
We will update the story as more information becomes available.
I'm sure some of you probably thought it was about some of the threads on here...  but there really is a bovine running around Mastic!

I hit a large goat years ago driving down Cedar Rd in E Npt/Elwood.
After that nothing shocks me.

No clue where it came from and still on the loose as per my friend who is a cop.

I just read on news12 as of an hour ago, the bull is still on the loose

There is no sign of a 1,500-pound bull seen on video running through the streets of Suffolk County
All eyes in Moriches are peeled for the bull that's still on the loose. The animal was seen running through the area on a neighbor’s Ring doorbell.
Police say it escaped from a farm on Barnes Road after it broke through a fence.
News 12 was told the bull was scheduled to be sacrificed at the farm for a Muslim holiday.
Prayer groups that gathered told News 12 that after the bull was slaughtered, the meat would go to feed the hungry.
The bull was last spotted Tuesday night by an animal rights activist, but it is still roaming free. Police say anyone who sees the bull should call 911.

They still haven't caught it. Apparently it was to be slaughtered for religious ceremony, and some animal rights activists are involved and trying to catch it with tranquilizer guns and bring it to a sanctuary in NJ

I read about Norma Jean . I thought female animals needed to be in heat to be attractive to males, no?
