Something else that SHOCKED me about this? Learning that Chris Rock is 57 years old! I'll have whatever he is having!
He looks good.
Am I the only one that though Chris was on to something? I would've totally watched a G.I. Jane 2 with Jada. As much as she can be annoying with her weird family dynamic, she's fit and I can totally see her in that role. I think it would be an awesome reboot or sequel.

Re: Will Smith
Should have Will hit chris. No. Should Chris be making fun of someone no but I get it he is a comedian that’s what they do but does it really make it ok for him to do so? I struggle with this because I am not ok with certain cancel cultures but we shouldn’t just keep doing things just because it was ok in the past.
Either way Chris isn’t pressing charges so really at this point it’s overkill for social media, radio news etc to keep harping on it!

Honestly, being a comedian absolutely makes it OK to make fun of people, groups, situations, and other hot button issues. That's literary their job! Who wants to listen to a comedian that stands up on stage blowing smoke up everyone's a$$ while being sensitive and kind??? That wouldn't be remotely funny. Being edgy, injecting humor or sarcasm into an otherwise serious topic is what makes stand up comics funny. I feel like this country has forgotten how to have a sense of humor.
I personally love edgy, crass comics like Bill Burr, Louis C.K., George Carlin, Eddie Murphy (back in the day) etc. They are completely obnoxious and politically incorrect in every way but within the context of their job (which is to make fun of everything and everyone) they are hysterical.
Just my two cents.

This is why I say I struggle with this. Cause I find all that stuff funny and wouldn’t get offended.
But my only argument will be at a comedy show you know what to expect and tku can choose not to go to the show this wasn’t a comedy show this was the Oscar’s where maybe if you don’t know a persons going to be offended or not you don’t make jokes. But again like I said I’m torn.
Either way clearly some see Chris‘s side some see Wills side. in the end they are both seem to be trying to moving on from it. Chris is not pressing charges everyone needs to stop harping on it.

I understand what you're saying. Thanks for clarifying.
My guess with Chris' joke though is that it was either written by the producers of the show or at the very least, given the green light by them. Will definitely took out his (phony) frustration on the wrong person, for sure.
But you're right, what's done is done. It's time to move forward and hopefully people learn from it.

Re: Will Smith
Whether or not he wrote the joke, Chris Rock's problem is he should've known his audience. Jada Pinkett Smith does not seem like the type of person who can take a joke. For a bald joke he probably should've stuck with the norm - a guy.

I just saw this and sent to hubby who saw it and told me:
Smith’s resignation means he can no longer vote for the Oscars — but he can still be nominated for future Academy Awards, attend future ceremonies and keep the statue he won. But the Academy’s formal review will continue.

Who cares, this means nothing. They are making it out like it is a big deal. So he can’t vote. Waaaahhhh. These narcissists are such entitled losers.

agreed. it's those jokes where i'm a bit embarrassed to laugh that make me laugh the hardest... especially about relationships and sex. they're funny because they point out and/or analyze the things we either take for granted or don't want to look at about ourselves.
