Window Treatments, what kind do you have?

We're moving hopefully soon and where where moving to have casement windows. The apartment where we are now has verticals.

I was thinking of putting honeycomb shades in most of the windows (bedrooms and downstairs). Does it matter what kind of window treatment I put for casement windows? Or put whatever I like?

In the kitchen I was thinking of a wood blind.

What I really need help is the living room (not street level) front window---its a 5 casement bow window and the living room runs into the dining room (no separation) and the dining room has 1 casement window--any suggestions? I was thinking of Privacy Sheers (like Silhouettes), but my mom heard from friends that they don't last and hard to clean--anyone have these? Your opinions please.

Also need help downstairs, I have a sliding patio door--what do I put there?

Should I stay with good 'ol faithful--verticalsChat Icon

LR - wood blinds on each window - we have a bow as well. Plus a pair of panels just for decoration.

DR - silhouettes - our DR is pretty formal so the silhouettes (IMO) look awesome. Again - plus panels for decoration.

Kitchen - curtain tiers

master BR - silhouettes. Love the look but they do not block out light. It was an adjustment for us but I must say on sunny days we always wake up cheerful. Chat Icon Opposite for dreary days. Chat Icon

1/2 bath - honeycombs

master bath - plantation shutters

office - roman shades

guest BR - balloon shades

nursery - white wood blinds

Re: Window Treatments, what kind do you have?

I have sheers and drapes in my living room, I light a lot of light to come in,

In my bedroom I also have sheers and darkening panels

In DD room have have Levelor Darkening shades and a valance

In my kitchen I have a valance and that's it. I have trees behind my house so noone can see in.

My dining room is not finished yet so I don't have anything, but it faces the back like the kitchen, when I am done with it I will probably just get custom shades made for it.

All of my windows are casement windows
