I would do chocolate panels but I am biased because I just bought them for my living room.

Chocolate would be nice. It would warm up the walls. But you could also do a nice slate blue curtain. Then maybe buy one or two decorative pillows for the couch, some art work with browns and blues in it for the walls and maybe a vase. Try Home Goods for the art and the decor....they have great prices. GL! Great looking room.Chat Icon

ETA: You could do bamboo roman shades with the curtains. Dark or light. would depend on your taste. Looks like you get a lot of light in the room. It you went with the chocolate curtains, I would go with a medium to light bamboo roman shade.

A sage green would go nicely in there also - and help to break up all the brown you have going on. Try to pick up one of the accent colors in the rug - did i see orange? That could work too. I also think having a plant or two around would help make the room look warmer.

Ohhhh Burnt Orange would look really nice with your room. I'm going to look for some pics to give you inspiration.

I think earthy tones would look great: rust, burgandy, browns, dark greens.

Love that couch by the way!

i would add warm tones, since the walls are cool, then add some matching throws for more color...these are all from pier 1

Re: What kind of window treatments for family room should I do?

Thank you everyone for your wonderful ideas. I will be posting more pics of the house so you all can give me ideas for different rooms.
For those who asked, my parents got the couch at Costco! It was on sale for $1000. Then my Mom got the rug at TJ Maxx. Will be going to Home Goods for all our accessories but, I have to be careful since I have a 3 and 1 year old in the house. There are things I would love to do but,I know they will get into it.

Thanks again
