Winter 08/Spring 09 Mommies-Updates

So what are your babies doing?

Mine were preemie twins so not sure if they are a little behind or what

Declan: babbling, rocking back and forth, rolling all over the place, Has his pincer grip down can eat puffs. Gets humor-for instance-he put his binky near my mouth and UI pretended to su ck it and he laughed hysterical. Laughs at EVERYTHING-you can look at him and he laughs.
Working on more textured foods as I gave them Stage 3 last night and they both gagged their way through a few spoonfuls

Ronan: Makes consonant sounds-dadada, yayaya etc., sleeping through the night(well goes to bed at 6:45-wakes around 11 to eat-then sleeps until 6 or so-which sux!-too early for Mama), Also makes a growling, screeching noise, rolls all over-no rocking or up on hands and knees but can stand assisted for long periods of time

So: Pixie, Pickles, Randella, Kerry, ummm I know there are others but its early!Chat Icon Chat Icon

Well JAZ, is ALL OVER THE PLACE. He scoots around like a madman. He eats like a grown man, I gave him some melon yesterday. LOVED it. I also slipped him a french fry from the diner. (We didnt tell daddy that) and he was in heaven with it.

He is a screamer. Just to scream, just to hear himself do it. He is also cutting his bottom teeth. We have serious swollen gums. He loves his jumping toys and is all around the bombdiggity. Chat Icon

Im waiting for Mama to come out of him mouth.Chat Icon

Alexa is 5.5 months. She is rolling around, sitting on her own and occassionally likes to hang upside down from things Chat Icon

She likes to make gasping and screeching noises that drives my DH INSANE cause he thinks she's choking. Chat Icon

She's eating pureed fruits and veggies with cereal 3-4 X a day, is still nursing 8+ times a day and is a string bean Chat Icon

She's not a huge babbler yet but likes to study things a lot. She is fascinated with people's faces and tries to rip their noses off!!!

She has also discovered the cats and dogs and LOVES petting them! Its so sweet because they are all so gentle with her. It's helped me to remember why I love them so much!

She goes to bed at 7p and consistently sleeps until 7-8am. She is also FINALLY napping!!!

I fall more and more in love with her each day Chat Icon

Caught her sitting up completely unassisted for the very first time!

Justine....She is 8 months old. At six months old, she started to roll over, sit up and crawl and she hasn't stopped since! She pulls herself up to stand on the furniture, and on my bed. She will hold onto my headboard and cruise across the headboard. She babbles all day, alot of da da da and ba ba ba. She is very happy and smiles all the time but she doesn't laugh out loud for me only for dh and her brother. She is a very good with foods. She is still getting the pincher grip down with the puffs. She is very vocal at dinner time screaming at what we are eating and she is not so we have started tiny pieces of sometable food like vegetables and pastina. Sleeping isn;t so great yet. We co-sleep because we are still EBF and she still awakens during the night not really for a feeding but for comfort nursing. She won't take a pacifier. She is also a light sleeper so she knows whenever I try to put her in her crib she wakes up instantly. She also does not like being put down which is my fault. We need to work on that.

Loves to eat, had pickle for the first time yesterday, tried some real banana on vacation but was a bit Chat Icon about it ! Big time flirt, always smiling and thinks her big brother is just the funniest thing going ( belly laughs like no other when he does something silly)
Still no teeth, getting her ears pierces Friday (Chat Icon ), finally growing some hair Chat Icon Always giving hugs, wet kisses and loves to eat my face !

Still waking anywhere between 1-3x a night , still only really taking a 4oz bottle at a time throughout the day( but still every 3 hours or so) , solids 3x a day...

As of the past week or so, she does thing angry thing ( infant tantrum

She also makes this new faceChat Icon where she looks evil, she must have found new face muscles or something Chat Icon

Can't wait for an official "mama", although when she's upset my DH swears she says it, probably only coincidence though Chat Icon

she LOVES the pool. LOVES animals, (crawls around after our dog AND cat)

My DD is 7 months. She's sitting up unassisted, rolling, exploring and studying everything. Her favorite activity is to people & dog watch.

She's not crawling yet and she can not get from laying down to sitting. She has reflux, so I think her limited tummytime has slowed her growth. She has really strong legs and can stand holding onto things. Every once in a while she'll let one hand go and stand one handed.

No talking yet and not really babbling. I don't think she has found her voice yet. She does huff and puff a lot - oh and she makes rasberry noises with her lips.

Sadie is just over 6 months old.

She sits up unassisted and loves to play on her mat and sit in the cart like a big girl when we go shopping.

She LOVES LOVES LOVES Fred and tries really hard to get him when he walks by her all the time.

She is eating oatmeal, veggies and fruits and I am still in the process of introducing new things every couple of days. She thinks Baby Mum Mum is the BEST THING EVER and flips out when she finishes it. She also gets 4 6oz bottles a day.

She loves to shriek and make all sorts of noises. No babbling yet.

She is obsessed with cups and anything we are eating. She tries to grab drinks out of my hand all the time and I will totally be spilling soda on her at some point.

She sleeps in her crib for naps and bedtime and only needs to be rocked if she is very overtired. Otherwise, she puts herself to sleep for naps and bedtime without a problem!!!

No teeth yet.

Re: Winter 08/Spring 09 Mommies-Updates

Jonah and Madelyn will be 7 months tomorrow.
They both LOVE their solids. We have tried some non-pureed food like mashed sweet potatoes, mangoes, and bananas and they love them. They also love american cheese and yogurt. Basically, they love everything. They are still nursing around every 3 hours or so and I think have definitely got a lot bigger in the past month.
Sleeping is not the greatest still.
Mady will pretty much sleep through the night, but only in the PNP. She will not sleep in the crib in the same room as Jonah. She sometimes gets up around 3 or 4 to nurse.
Jonah still gets a bottle at around 11 or so, but we are trying to wean him off it. He will wake up around 4 to nurse (although today it was 5:30).

They are both very happy babies, always happy and smiling. They are VERY vocal, babbling, screeching, so many different sounds. They love to pet the cats.

Jonah rolls around all over the place, I think he will be crawling pretty soon. Mady can sit up unassissted for very long periods of time. She loves to bang her toys around.

Mady loves the exersaucer and Jonah loves ther jumperoo.

They both have such unique personalities and I am loving watching them develop into little people. They are looking more and more like little kids and less like tiny babies every day! Its sad but exciting at the same time.

Lilah will be 8 months old this Saturday. She is crawling everywhere, cruising, pulls herself up on absolutely everything and I swear she wants to walk so bad and kind of forgets she can't. She's babbling and saying dada, but not mama yet. She's starting to get some puffs down. I'm introducing yogurt this weekend. I've been going slowly with food. I'm terrified of textured foods and choking so I haven't been pushing it at all. She is a wonderfully happy baby and I just cannot believe how she fulfills my life.

ETA--she is waving "hello" too. it's so cute.

With my DD its always different....
:
Last night, we put her down at 8:30, she woke at 10:30 ( just needed to be rocked) and then only woke once at about 2am and drank a whole bottle...

Other nights she'll wake 2-3x and usually will not finish a bottle every time, but occasionally will...
Sometimes she will only take an ounce or so ! Theres usually one full bottle in there somewhere though....
She's not a binky kid, otherwise I think the sucking motion would be enough to get her out sometimes...

ETA- If you've gone this far without adding a nightime bottle, I'd probably try to avoid it and maybe cluster feed before bed...Once it starts, it may be harder to stop kwim ?

Re: Winter 08/Spring 09 Mommies-Updates

Samantha will be 6 months old on Sunday:

No teeth yet, I don't feel anything, but when I try to look, she just sticks her tongue out at me.

She's very into imitating my facial expressions, it's hystercial!

She's been rolling onto her tummy for a few weeks now, but still prefers to sleep on her back (Thank G! I'm too much of a nervous nelly when she sleeps on her tummy!)

She's definately trying with all her being to crawl.... I'm NOT ready for that, but she can get herself around the playroom by moving herself in circles, she'll end up on the other side of the foam mats I have laid on the floor.

She loves to talk... babble, screech and her new thing is this "Ehhh, Ehhhh, Ehhhhh" thing she does. But she can go on to have a 20 minute conversation with me, DH, the cat, her toys.

She's obsessed with my computer and my cell phone.

She notices our cat more and more and the cat is starting to investigate her more closely now. She gets SO excited when she sees the cat.

She absolutely goes nuts/excited being around other kids. But she's also a bully my little one! I've noticed in daycare, she will not hesitate to just grab a toy out of another kids hands as if she owns it. In fact, she does it then laughs about it. Too cute!

She LOVES playing... with EVERYTHING!

Every day I'm more and more amazed by the things she does. It seemed a few months ago, I was just waiting for her to do x, y or z, and now the changes are daily with the new things she is discovering. It's just absolutely amazing and incredible this little miracle of mine!

Harrison is 7.5 months old. He just started STTN at 7 months old Chat Icon, but he's still in our bed. Chat Icon We're going to try to transition him to the crib soon. I have a feeling he'll no longer be STTN.

He loves food. So far, he likes everything we've given him. I just started giving him 3 meals per day and he's doing well with it. He usually nurses 4 times per day, which is a definite decrease from a month or two ago. I keep offering him puffs and he's finally starting to understand the gumming part.

Harrison still doesn't have any teeth, but since I'm still BFing, I'm ok with that. He has been sitting up well for months. He rolls over when he wants to. He tries to crawl, but hasn't quite figured it out yet. He babbles. He loves to smile and laugh. He's such a happy baby and is so affectionate. He likes to give me hugs and kisses and more often than not, he gives them to me when I ask for them. Chat Icon I still can't believe how quickly he's growing up.

Re: Winter 08/Spring 09 Mommies-Updates

Wilson just turned 7 months, he is finally showing an interest in table food. He'll eat pastina and loves his soy yogurt, I am going to try hard boiled egg yolk again later this week. No teeth yet, but they seem to be getting closer with all of his drooling and chomping.

He had rolled over in both directions by 4.5 months, but he doesn't do it often. He still hates tummy time, he prefers to be sitting up - he has gotten really good at it and can now keep his balance while looking up and turning around. I do still keep the boppy around him and if he falls back on it, he can pull himself back up to sitting. He is starting to stand while holding on to objects, but only lasts a minute or so. He isn't showing any signs of crawling, although he does wiggle himself around to get to toys that are out of reach. He loves to play drums - I gave him a wooden spoon and metal bowl and he goes nuts, it's hysterical!

He's a super happy baby with lots of bellly laughs, he loves the cats and laughs whenever they come over to him. He loves to be tickled! He is babbling, but no intentional words yet Chat Icon He has also become a ham and turns and smiles whenever he sees the camera Chat Icon

Sleeping is finally down! YAY!!!! He takes two consistent naps during the day in his crib!!!! Yay - this is a huge deal because for the longest time I could only get hhim to nap in my arms. I have also broken him of the nursing to sleep habit!!! and he is back to sleeping through the night! (7PM-5AM)

He is still a peanut! He was just under 15lbs at his 6 month check up and 25.5 inches long. I think he grew alot this month though.

I love seeing him grow and learn each day Chat Icon
