Winter/Fall babies - where do you have their birthdays - if you are having a BIG party
We will do the same for Tyler as we did for Jack. A huge first birthday. For Jack (June 28th) we had it in our backyard. 175 people (including kids)
For Tyler (Oct 15th) I'm not sure what I would do, or where I would have it.
What do you do?

Re: Winter/Fall babies - where do you have their birthdays - if you are having a BIG party
We had her 1st birthday at a restaurant.
We had her Christening (It was beginning of April and still cold) at the firehouse my dad belongs to. It was cheap and the room was HUGE.

Re: Winter/Fall babies - where do you have their birthdays - if you are having a BIG party
I am trying to figure that out myself.
I already have Luce's theme (early much ) but am still unsure about location.
I know going forward as he gets older I will be doing a lot of fall related excursions and events for his birthday, but wanted to have something indoors for his 1st.
I really should be focusing on his baptism though that is coming up sooner.

Re: Winter/Fall babies - where do you have their birthdays - if you are having a BIG party
Unfortunately, the weather will be a crap shoot and doing it at home would be risky. I
t's too bad that White Post Farms didn't do big parties like that. A fall festival type theme would be really cute. Too bad there aren't any barns in your neighborhood you could rent out. I went to college in Indiana, and we had annual "Barn Dances" and they were so much fun, better than the formals....I digress..
With that many people, I'd probably rent a hall.

DS is a fall baby (oct.) we had his party at a Knights of Columbus. I wish it could have been outdoors somewhere but it was too chilly.

We had a fairly big party, but it was at our house. Fortunately we had the room. If we had invited a few more people though, we would have had to have it somewhere else.

Re: Winter/Fall babies - where do you have their birthdays - if you are having a BIG party
I've been thinking about this. DS' bday is October 3rd. I've been wondering whether I can still manage to have it outside but that's so hit/miss. Some Oct are chilly and others warm. 2nd choice is probably a restaurant.

Derek is early September and we are doing it in our backyard. That time of October you may be able to do it at home as well. I think it's still nice enough out.

Re: Winter/Fall babies - where do you have their birthdays - if you are having a BIG party
My DS's b-day is Oct 12...We have had luck the past 4 years and had a big backyard party for him usually the first week-end in October...Last year was the first year we scrambled for a tent last minute and it ended up not raining anyway Temperature wise its always perfect !
My DD is a January baby so for her 1st we rented a VFW, don't know what will happen in the future !
