Winthrop Moms - Pediatrician Bill Question

Hi - I just got a $500+ bill from Winthrop saying its from the pediatrician care from delivery.

I have Oxford - Can I submit this? Does anyone know?

When I delivered I got a bill for the hearing screening test. I was told the test isn't covered. The test was a mandatory test and I didn't have a choice. I had to fight with them for a bit, but evetually i got it covered. I have United Health Care. I don't think I got a separate ped. bill though..

Did they try to bill your insurance and the insurance denied it? If they didn't bill the insurance, I would call the Ped. office and tell them to submit a claim. If it was billed and denied by Oxford, file an appeal. You have to do it in writing and they always deny the first one, so you will have to appeal it again.

was it your ped or an out of network ped? What wa s the bill denied insurance coverage for?

Call Oxford, ask them to handle it....

If it was an Out of network Ped, tell them you didnt choose them and would like an exception, get a supervisor if the Rep says no..you will get it paid.
