Re: With whose side do you celebrate holidays more?
We try and split them evenly. Thanksgiving is always my family because we see his the next day fpr leftovers. We alternate Christmas Eve/Christmas Day with the families each year and Easter is usually with my family since his parents throw a Palm Sunday dinner.

Re: With whose side do you celebrate holidays more?
We try to split them evenly. But my mom and brother are moving to AZ, and my sister is going to college in September. So it will probably be his family mainly. It really depressed me- these past holidays are really the last ones where my family was whole.

Re: With whose side do you celebrate holidays more?
His family is tiny - 4 people including him, and now 5 including me. So we tend to spend a lot of time there. Compared to my family - My grandmother has 2 daughters with their families in the house - my mother, her husband and my two baby brothers, and my aunt and her two sons. Also her husband and the fact that the rest of my family drops in there all the time (my cousin and her three kids, my other cousins, etc).
There's also the fact that his family celebrates the Jewish holidays and so do we, and there are lots of them! My family celebrates Christmas and Easter and that's about it. Thanksgiving, which was a huge deal when we were kids, has kind of split up because my grandmother often works then, and she's the driving force behind everything. I try to get over there more often, mostly to see my baby brothers, but it's 2 hours away by subway and we don't have a car. That's the other thing - his dad picks us up at the drop of a hat.

Re: With whose side do you celebrate holidays more?
Honestly, we spend more time with my family for holidays, merely because my family's just more into them. We stopped at his house for Easter and didn't even get a single "Happy Easter" from anybody. We went to my parents' and got baskets and gifts and hugs galore. My family's just bigger with celebrations.

Re: With whose side do you celebrate holidays more?
We spend some time with each family on each holiday....but I think when it comes down to it we are with my family more.
When we get married we are hoping to have the family gatherings at our house so we can be with everyone at the same time

We are very lucky in 2 respects...we celebrate different holidays (we are interfaith) and our families get along great, so we celebrate most holidays together!
