Work from home or student mommies, what kind of childcare do you have for your child?
I received an offer for a work from home position. Not sure if I should get a mother's helper, a nanny, a nanny share or put DS in daycare. My hours will be flexible.
Was wondering what other work from home or student mommies did for childcare.

DD goes to daycare 3x/week
This works for me b/c it forces me to get $hit done when she's not home and then when she is home, I can focus on her

Do you work full time?
There is no way I could get all my work done at night and during naptime. I need to sleep too!

Did you ever have a nanny or mother's helper?
If I accept this job, I plan to make one of the bedrooms a home office for myself.
I can't help but think that DS would cry for me if he knew I was home.

I work 15-20 hours a week and tackle most of that during nap times and after they are in bed. If I find myself falling behind, I have been known to lock myself in the office for a few hours on the weekend also.
Even with help, I think it would be very hard to work a full 40 hour schedule from home if the kids were home the entire time.

No...and I try to go to starbucks, the library, my office on campus to do work b/c I get distracted at home. Well distracted MORE at home
I did make one room at home an office so if there are times when DD goes to bed/naps or DH is busy w/her on the weekend, I can get some stuff done. It's also helped just organization-wise. For ME, I would find it IMPOSSIBLE to get work done at home while DD is home even if someone was watching her...I would not be able to focus at all.
GL with whatever you choose!

Same here. I work full time and work 7 days a week to make up for missed hours during the week. I also only sleep about 5 hours a night. But it is worth it to me to be able to be home with my kids. Well most of the time lol I have a lifetime to sleep but they are only young once.

This. I freelance, so some weeks are worse than others. I've been really busy the past few weeks so I've been going to sleep at 3 or 4am some nights. I also work weekends. If I were to hire help or send DC to daycare, it would pretty much cancel out whatever I'm bringing in.

I worked from home for years and now I am a student full time and have my mom who watches them whenever I need it. She is a lifesaver!
