what is your work schedule?

what is your DH's?

just wondering. DH and i will soon be working opposite schedules and i just wanna see if anyone else goes through this and how they cope.

DH and I have pretty similar schedules

He leaves the house at 7:30, is home by 4
He had a 1/2 hour commute
I leave the house at 8:30 and am home by 4:30; I have a 8 minute commute

I can make my own schedule so i usually wrk 7 to 4:30 and take every other Friday off.

DH does not work from December to March BUT in the summer he works from 6AM to 11PM. He comes home Monday through Friday for a few hours each day for lunch and a nap but on the weekends he works straight through. Currently, he is coming home at 10PM though until it gets warmer out.

We both get pretty sad about it every summer but we try to make time for each other. Today we spent some time at the park and had a picnic - other days we will go out to a fancy restaurant in the middle of the day.

It stinks though.

my schedule is 9-5 mon - fri.. DH's schedule is not so simple.. he works 2 hes off 3, works 3 he's off for 4.. and its 7am-7pm, in 3 months he will switch to 7pm-7am and then back to days *hopefully* the days are okay and since we know his schedule so far in advance we kinda plan around it. I can't ever count on him coming home though so dinners are tough, theres alway a chance he will get stuck late. But working only 12 days a month is a huge bonus! so theres good things and bad. knowing his days in advance are huge.

we have pretty similar schedules
i work at a school so its monday to friday 8:30- 3:30. ( i usually leave the house at about 8, get home about 4)
DH works monday- friday, leaves around 8, gets home around 5.

I work the standard 9-5 but also log in from home at night sometimes.

DHs work schedule rotates. He works three weeks from 8:30-5. Then a week from 9:30-6. Following that week it's 10-6:30 and then a week of 11:30-8. He also has fire department stuff he has to go to which means he's usually out of the house from 7-11 one night a week, sometimes 2 or 3 depending on what's going on. And he also has drill Sunday mornings.

DH goes to work earlier than me & I get home a few hours later than him.
We usually only eat dinner together a couple of nights a week.

Saturday: 10-2
Sundays: 11-4

DH: M-F 9-5

We more or less have the same schedule. We both leave for work at 6:20 and we usually get home somewhere between 3:30 and 4:30

my work schedule is pretty standard and I leave around 8:00 am and I'm usually home by 6:00. I don't have a very long commute at all, maybe 20 minutes.

DH leaves the house at 9:00 and most of the is not home until 8:00ish. Many times he has to continue working when he gets home. His commute is about 45 minutes.

Rob usually leaves by 6:30 and is home by 4:00-4:30.

I leave at 8:30 and I'm home USUALLY between 6:30 and 7.

I get up earlier than I need to so that we can spend time chatting and catching up.

You learn to live for the weekend evenings.

Well my dh's has just changed:

I work 9-5-hour lunch-I go home
Dh's work-nights 5pm/6pm-1am

We see each other in the morning for about 2 hours, about an hour on my lunch hour, 1/2 hour when I get home, days on the weekends when I am off.

He just started but it seems ok to me as he has worked 3-11pm when we first got married and I felt like I saw him less than this schedule.

DH leaves the house at around 6:50am and comes home at around 6:30-7pm

I leave at 8am and am home at around 6ish

I work from 6:30am to 8pm or so... And DH works either 9"30 - 6 or 1:30 to 10... We never see each other either!

I work 9/9:30 till about 6 sometimes later and usually get home by 7.

DH works Mon, Tues, Thurs 12-9 and doesn't get home till 10. Wed he works 9-7 if he works. Fri 9-5 (this is the only day we have a similiar scheduled) and Sat 9-7---this I would say is the worst day, especially in the summer!!!
It stinks and I hope it gets better once we have kids!!!

I currently do not work-Full Time At Home Mom.

However, before baby We worked opposite schedules. I worked M-F 8am to 4:30 pm (add onto that a 45 min to 1 Hr commute each way). I also used to work Saturday AMs. DH worked Tu-Sa 5:30pm to 2am.

We made sure to keep Sundays (all day) and Monday nights free for each other. It was not easy, but I knew I had little control over his schedule.

He now has the same days off, but his schedule flip/flops. One week days and one week nights.

I work 8:30am-5pm

DH works from 9-4:30pm

He gets home at 4:45pm and I get home around 5:15pm.

DH works 9-5 in Queens so he leaves around 6:45 a.m. and gets home around 6 p.m.
I work 9-6 in Nassau so I leave for work at 7:30 a.m. and get home around 7 p.m.

Before DH became a CO, he worked nites as a bartender. We generally had Monday and Tuesday nights together and some Sundays.
I would use the other nights to see my family and friends. It was actually really tough for me (sometimes it still is) to be home every night for dinner when he switched jobs. I was used to doing what I wanted at night and he expected me to be home. It took us a while to work out an arrangement that made us both happy (I get a night a week to do what I want and he doesn't complainas long as I'm home at a decent hour ).
