working mom guilt...
Okay, so I always feel guilty for going to work and sending DD to daycare because i feel bad not being home with her...but now I feel guilty for NOT going to work because of the snow....I cant win!!!
anyone else struggle with this, or I am just crazy?!?!?!
I am pretty sure work understands that I live 45/50 minutes away on a GOOD day, but I still feel bad... :(

I'm not a working mom, but I'm sure that your job understands under these conditions. The roads are terrible out there. Accidents everywhere. Things like this happen. Your commute is long to begin with - it would take you 2+ hours to even get in. It's not worth the risk!
Can you do some work from home?

ITA and don't feel bad, your child's safety is MOST important, and kids shouldn't be on the road today if you can help it

Re: working mom guilt...
I feel like I am constantly guilty - of not working more or not spending more time with DS.
I feel like I can't win!
This morning, we opened late but, I am working at home. I did some work early in the morning and then DH went out to take care of the driveway and I felt guilty playing with DS (even though the office wasn't techincally open yet).

You're not alone. Guilty because I didnt make the trek into the office and guilty because my DS had surgery yesterday and is finally back to his playful self but I'm stuck on my laptop trying to do work. You just cant win
Guilty also because I'm praying for 3hr naps today so I can do some work... maybe then I can get enough done to just play with them for the rest of the day

Re: working mom guilt...
I have a case of working mom guilt too. I feel guilty the days I work and she is with the nanny. I feel guilty leaving work at 5pm to get home so the nanny can leave. I feel guilty when DH telecommutes b/c I feel like I should be home with DD. I feel guilty having Fridays off b/c work is very busy.
I think guilt is unavoidable as a mommy...but we do the best we can! Don't be so hard on yourself!

Re: working mom guilt...
I have good days and bad but for the most part I haven't stopped feeling some sort of guilt about one thing or another since I went back to work 6 months ago. I'm able to shake it most days, but I struggle with it on others.
We just have to not try to beat ourselves up so much. you do the best you can do and on days like today when the weather is bad, you just have to tell yourself that it's not worth risking your babies life and your own to go in.

Re: working mom guilt...
I try to do some work from home, but its so hard (DD is only 9 mos old) and DH went to work. I attempt it when she naps, but that's about it.
its such a struggle. I SO need to win the lottery so I can just stay home all the time!! LOL a girl can dream!
My goal for today is to get DD to drink from a sippy cup! talk about a struggle! she wants NOTHING to do with it and ends up turning the cup upsidedown to chew on the bottom! LOL

I can sympathize... DD is 7.5 mos and her goal of the day is to climb the fridge using her toy magnets. You can imagine how well that is going for her and how easy it is for me to get any work done with her awake
