7:30-5pm.
If I had someone to do the morning shift, I'd get in as early as possible to allow me to go home earlier or get a day off.
I'd rather miss time they were possibly still sleeping in the morning. You still get to see them for dinner & do the bedtime story. I'd love 3 day weekends instead of a 5 days work week. Once they start elementary school that extra day off is ideal for the million 1/2 days and days off they get.

Didn't think about it that way - even just at preschool they have a zillion days off because of the federal AND jewish holidays, since they are at a synagogue. And the great part of my schedule is that I can pick the day I want to take off - I don't have to follow a rigid schedule.

would you pay less at day care if you only worked 4 days a week? I would do the 2 extra hours (6:30-5) to get that extra day every week and save on DC and use the money to do fun things with the kids on the day off.

Beth, after college I worked for the FAA and I had the same options. For awhile I did the 10 hr. days and had a day off every week but after awhile it starts to wear on you...I couldnt imagine doing it with two kids. BUT if you get to work from home I would give it a shot, 2 days at home and 2 days at work. It might not be so bad because of those 2 days at home.
Most of the people I worked with who had children did the extra hour every day and took a day off every other week and it seemed to work well for them.
