World of War Craft, what are your thoughts?

My DH is addicted, and so are all his friends. I like to make fun of them. That game drives me crazy, especially for the fact that you can't pause it. What is that about?
Anyone else with me?

Re: World of War Craft, what are your thoughts?

OMG, i cant stand this game....

My DH was addicted to this game when we were dating. It interfered and we worked it out, and he has stopped playing b/c he got bored with it. DHs friend (best friend that i cant stand b/c of the whole WoW factor) is completely obsessed with it. So much that it is unhealthy. I am friends with his roommate and the things she tells me....it is actually really sad, b/c he has so many problems and his way of dealing with it is by playing WoW. He is coming over tonite and I am dreading listening to him talk about WoW...

you cant stop the game because it is in real life. is your DH past level 60? just wait, b/c then you go on 'raids' and they last 4-5 hours at least. Oh and there is an expansion pack coming out soon.....so good luck with that! Chat Icon

Oh! I know all about level 60. MY Dh is at level 34 I think, he doesn't have enough time to play. All his friends talk about is the game. You know what its like to go out to dinner for an hour, and listen to men talk about levels and missions. Chat Icon

Re: World of War Craft, what are your thoughts?

DH plays, but not alot (usually when I go to sleep)

He used to be much worse, especially with Star Wars Galaxy and the dreaded DIABLO II!!! (I went away for a MONTH for business, when Diablo II came out and I said, oh by the time I get back, you;ll be done with that game. NOPE, it took about 2 years later to go to the next one!)

I will say that when we had a baby is when he changed - thank goodness!!

Re: World of War Craft, what are your thoughts?

I have to agree with most of the posts here but it isn't my DH that is addicted to WoW but me. DH got me into the game about a year and a half ago. He was addicted to his own MMORPG and well bought this game he thought I would like :).

The game is great and it is very enjoyable but like everything in life, everything in moderation. I love the game but it doesn't control my life and I can carry on a conversation without ever mentioning WoW.

I know DH played these kinds of games before we started dating and I can assure you that if he was still playing them we would not have gotten much past a first date. Sometimes he talks with his old roommate about getting back into it but I won't let him. Damn straight I won't. Chat Icon

Re: World of War Craft, what are your thoughts?

I play a "family" MMORPG called ToonTown. I love playing in real time with other people, but other people don;t understand that. if the doorbell rings or something, I have a big decision to make, do I screw the 3 other people I'm in the building with, or do I ignore the doorbell? haha. Love the game though!

Re: World of War Craft, what are your thoughts?

DH plays a lot of games like this. He played Everquest and Star Wars Galaxy and Diablo. We both played WOW when it first came out. I honestly loved it, but once we had Christopher, that came to a screeching halt. Those games are WAY too time consuming, especially when you get to the higher levels. DH doesn't play as much as he used to and when he does play it's at night when Christopher's already in bed. In fact, he stopped playing WOW altogether for a few months, because he was bored, but they're coming out with an expansion soon, so he's getting back into it. For ladies whose husbands play and are planning to get the expansion, a warning: You know how it took your DH a REALLY long time to get to level 60? Well, guess what? With the expansion, you now go to level 70 and supposibly it takes as long to go from level 60-70 as it did from 0-60. Chat Icon
