Worried about a problem with Cailen's birthday party and Scudder Park
I spoke to the town clerk 2 times about Cailen's party date - when I reserved the date and when I called her about the May 24 GTG.
Both times she told me a letter was not necessary - I asked because Barbara told me that I needed to write a letter. But since she said no, I figured the town clerk would know. She even remembered me when I called about the May 24 date.
But a friend is reserving the park for a date in june, and sent a letter and got a confirmation letter sent to her. I figured I would write a "just in case" letter and faxed it yesterday afternoon.
I received a call this morning. The Town Clerk is not in today, but it seems that the date of Cailen's birthday may be reserved for someone else. The woman sees a name written down but can't make it out. I freaked and told her I was told I didn't need to do anything and the date was already reserved for me. She said the woman will call me tomorrow, and the name sort of looks like mine, but she can't tell
 
I then asked her about May 24, and said nothing was even pencilled in yet!!!!!  I faxed out the letter today - immediately - but now I'm so worried about May 3...
WHY would the town clerk herself tell me to not worry about the letter when it was necessary to reserve that date???? WHAT if I lost the spot for Cailen's party? Its bad enough I need to rely on my parents for the backup plan if it rains - i didn't want to have to deal with them solely for his birthday party. As it is my stepmom acted like it would be inconvenient. I can understand, but still...
sorry to ramble, but I'm so upset right now..... 
May 24 ladies - the site is available for us and I just sent the letter, so at least thats not affected at all......

Ummm, because that's Donna. That is who you spoke to right???? Donna??
ETA: Are you sure you can even reserve Scudder Park?? You are not a village resident.

If Scudder Beach isn't available, Crab Meadow is a great place to have a birthday party. It's has an area to eat in that is covered and right next to the playground and bathrooms.

I am a Northport resident...
Yes, you live in Northport BUT, you do not live within the geographical confines of the Incorporated Village of Northport, (I don't think) and to the best of my knowledge Scudder Park is only available to village residents.

It is available for Northport-East Northport residents. My sister who lives next door to Liza reserved Scudder for her husband's birthday party last year.

It is available for Northport-East Northport residents. My sister who lives next door to Liza reserved Scudder for her husband's birthday party last year.
And she said that I could reserve it, although now maybe I should take everything she says with a grain of salt

That's exactly what I was going to suggest. Even if they don't let you reserve a spot. Send someone a few hours early to spread your stuff out to "hold" your spot.

Liza -
Can you send me the letter you wrote? I need to write one for Maddie's birthday party.
Also the advantage of Scudder over Crab Meadow is Scudder is completely fee, no alcohol fees, etc. Just a matter of getting that confirmation!
Crab Meadow is much nicer though.
