I have a fairly large collection of pewter dragons and wizards that I've been collecting over the years. The entire family knows this. My Aunt thought she would help my "pewter" collection by giving me a pewter kitten on its back with a crystal ball of yarn.
You're missing the whole "Dragons and Wizards" theme concept  .....
I'm still trying to figure out how to put the cat in the jaws of one of the dragons.... IMAGE

Just kidding! 
I still think it's funny, several years later. (BTW, the cat is cute, so it's in a display, just not in the Dragons and Wizards display....)

My MIL gave me border paper she purchased on QVC so I could "do something with my house"
I returned it to QVC, but they messed up and instead of sending me a refund put the $ back on her account. So she knows I returned it, that and it's not up in my house.
Recently, a Good, Good friend gave me Hershey kisses saying Happy Birthday- I hate kisses and she has known me for 15 year

the first year that FH and I were dating FMIL got me like 10 HUGE sweaters. . . really big thick wool sweaters with all these wacky patterns on them. . .it was so strange and at the time ( i was 15 ) I really thought she was trying to send a message like "maybe you should cover up and stop being a hoochie mama" but she didnt give me a gift receipt so I just wore them to his house for a few months then gave them away!
She only has sons and I was the first girl either of them brought home so I guess she really didnt know any better - and NOW she buys me the BEST clothes, seriously my entire work wardrobe each year is replenished bc of her!

My MIL is the WORST for gifts. She buys whatever cheap crpa she finds.
2 years ago was the best.
I got
a :shawl"..I actually think it was a table runner since it was very very thin lace
a purple children's hairbrush with a "princess" on it.... it wasn't even Disney
A nightshirt that says "no tell motel"
and the kicker, were winter hats for me and FH with animals on them..like hs had a massive dog sticking out of the top, plastic eyes and all, and mine had a cat. iewwwww...like on what planet were were going to wear that?
and the year before she got me a jester's hat with a scarf/mitten combo.
Oh and how about my aunt who sends one of this gift baskets with all of the little sausages and cheeses in it every year...to me and my mom...who are both vegetarians, and I've been allergic to milk since brith (though I do love cheese anyway)

These stories are hysterical!!
MIL last year got me bakeware... as in ... cookie sheets, muffin pan etc. This all would have been fine if she didn't shove it in my hands and say ..."I'll be expecting cookies!"
She also gives me clothes way to small.
She gave me a small sweater that wouldn't fit me regularly but I happened to be pregnant at the time as well. In what world did she think that was going to fit me???

A couple of year ago, my Grandmother found these metal gift bags. They are hard to describe, but they are the size & shape of a small gift bag except they were made of metal & they had small holes (like on netting) so they were completely see through. My grandmother bought one for each woman in the family. She told us they were purses & they were see through like that so that it would be easier yo find our stuff at the bottom of the bag. Now, my Grandmother has dementia, so we're used to her doing some... different things, but we all had to try SO hard not to laugh

My parents are very generous gift givers... my aunt is not... in fact ,she works in a thrift store and we usually got gifts with their $1 or $2 tags on them... one year she makes a dish of chocolate covered pretzels (probably just Flips) in a Lenox dish.... poor dad eats a pretzel off the top and is then wanting to see the pattern on the dish so he moves the pretzels over.... ummm, filthy doesn't even begin to describe it. With its $2 tag on it. Needless to say, pretzels went in the trash.... c'mon people!!!

my sister's mom --- she didn't think much of it--and i'm sure it was cause my sis was a little hormonal and PMSing---well her mom got her some cellulite cream for christmas last year.
my sister cried for 45 min. after she opened it.

My sister knitted me a button front sweater when I was pg. I would have had to have arms proportioned like an ape and be carrying Octuplets to fit in that thing.
I felt really bad but everyone laughed their azzes of when I put it on and had this look on my face

I got plastic mixing bowls that had the 99 cent tags on the bottom.
From my students, I got year old chocolate...it was so old, the chocolate was discolored. I also got sexy pjs from Victoria's Secret...thank GOD I opened it at home.
