Would I Be Crazy to Buzz DS's hair?

he's 13 months and he's ready for his 4th haircut. It just grows too fast and I really love the way he looks with short hair.

I'm tempted to just get it buzzed down. Would that be weird? I feel like our family would be mad at me.

Also, would you do it yourself or having someone else do it? I always buzz my husbands hair so I'm used to doing it but DS's hair might be different texture wise and it might now go as planned.

What do you think?

Don't buzz to a #1 or #2 but you can use the longest setting or attachment and see how it goes. I would use the shorter setting for the side and back.

I used to buzz ex's hair.

I think it's easier to do when the hair is shorter.

Give it a try. It will always grow back.

I was 8 when my dad (an engineer) cut my bangs. Mistake, mistake, mistake. Yes, it was perfectly straight, but bangs usually angle at the sides a bit.

He's young enough to never know.

Try it on the longest setting 1st...I did charlie's whole head on a 4 and it was perfect...then I did the sides on a 3.

eta: personally I don't see a big deal in doing it myself...its hair, it grows back, and it actually came out good!

the thing about doing it myself is that I don't want to hurt him...i feel like on occasion when I do DH's hair he says I pull it. But I do his on a 1 and I wouldn't be doing DS's that short.

OK, i think you've given me the courage. Maybe i'll do it on Friday.

We buzz - 3/8" in winter - 1/4" in summer. Mohawks, longer or whatever on demand.

Buzz cuts are actually very popular for the first few years. Many of DS's classmates (and DS) had buzzcuts until at least 3 or 4 years old.
