would love some ideas for abbys 4th of july themed 1st bday!
were doing her party at our new house, for about 100 people. prob about 20-25 kids ranging from a few months to 16. Im most likely going to do edible favors of some sort. We are not having someone come to entertain the kids but really want to have a DJ (recommendations would be great if you have one!)
im at a loss for what to do as far as favors go for the kids, and should i get bubbles and chalk and crayons and coloring books for the kids?
Its an outside party in July, we do have a pool but im contemplating saying "its not ready to use yet" as we will be just moving in in may. so that we avoid any breakdowns from kids whos parents dont want to goin with them. i can set up a sprinkler for them to play in thats no biggie.
But id love some Suggestions as far as party planning goes... were doing a 4th of july theme. so ladies post away! 
ETA: we are doing hamburgers, hotdogs, bbq chicken, mac & potato salad, coleslaw baked beans, saurkraut (cant spell)
i would like to make a vegitarian dish since alot of my friends and family are vegitarian. so id love some suggestions for that as well as... What are some of your favorite foods for bbq and snacks?!

I think SweetCin did a 4th of July party for Gracie's first b-day...hopefully she'll see this thread. I don't remember exactly what she did, but I know from seeing the pics that it looked like a GREAT time!
Vegetarian dish-- a really nice pasta salad would be great (and enjoyed by everyone, not just vegetarians). Also, some nice grilled veggies-- peppers, eggplant, etc. Also, most people (me included!) love a nice green salad with lots of fresh veggies in it at BBQs, a nice break from all the heavy sides.
Definitely have ice pops for the kids, and maybe blue and red jello? Hmm...I'm usually all about themes but I'm having a hard time thinking of theme ideas for you right now...I'll post as I think.

My friend had a 4th of july bbq and she got a lot of fun stuff for the kids at christmas tree shop.

Great idea! They have tons of stuff for the 4th of July. They might actually have it out now that Easter is over.
I'd do a green salad, grilled veggies platter (on the bbq) corn. I like the jello idea that someone suggested too
