Would this annoy you?
You are throwing your DH a huge 30th birthday party, you hire help but the SIL keeps insisting to help you tell her thank you but you hired someone to help you, its time for the cake, I go out in the yard to gather everyone around to hear get up there with your husband and the cake. I was like huh? Turned around and there was his sister bringing out my DH's cake! I am ******. Am I over reacting or would you be ******?
and no she didnt help or pitch in for the party at all, in fact she is from Florida and she and her husband and 2 kids stayed with us- so not only was I preparing for a big party I also had them staying with us for 7 days and DH got them a rental car and we also fed them. Just to give you some insight.

I wish that was the case, his sister is always in our business, when she was living with us before she moved to florida she was also telling us how to live and now that Im PG she is telling me how I should raise my children. Ugh even when we got married the fights I had with her then too. It just never seems to end.

I would be pizzed and think you def. have a right to feel how you do.
ETS: Even if she was trying to be helpful in her own mind, she definately could have done so in other ways like helping straighten up or something like that.

Thank you ladies, at first I said to myself maybe I am overreacting with these hormones, but the more I think about it and yes the past history, I am so mad at her!!!! Hello I would like to bring out my DH's cake that I ordered payed for and I threw the party for him! Not her!!! Thanks for listening and responding,

Hard to say without knowing her personally. If she was truly trying to be helpful than NO. If I suspected there was a fraction of bad intention than YES.

Because of the past history, I would probably be annoyed but not angry. With all of her offers of help, I would take it as she wanted to be a part of his birthday. Why didn't you let her help? Was it because of the past history?

I know this person- did you steal my SIL???
The same one who doesn't want me to throw a wedding brunch for her at my house but I could do all the prep and shopping and have it at hers so she can take the credit????

It would ABSOLUTELY annoy me! She should have asked first if it was OK to bring it out, instead of just taking it upon herself.
Next time she tells you how to run your life, you just say, thanks but I gotta it all under control. And Say it every time its needed.......eventually she will get sick of hearing the same sentence and hopefully she'll learn to keep her flap shut.

I didnt want her to help b/c I hired waitresses so that me and the family can just sit back and enjoy. But of course she got in their way and I had to tell her stop they have it under control. She is the type of person to tell you what to do and has to be in control of everything even when she shouldnt be. Its very annoying, I spoke to my DH about it and he agrees with me that she shouldnt have done that and should have asked me if it was ok.
