Would this bother you? (Daycare gift related)

For the holidays, we gave DD's daycare teachers gifts. Her part time floater teachers each got something and her two main teachers, got a gift with a generous GC, too. We see her one teacher (we love her!) everyday - she's there at drop off and pick up. Her other full time teacher's hours are 8-3, so we don't see her. We have met her once or twice since she started in September. I left her gift with the other teacher right before the holidays and still have not received any sort of thank you. I am a BIG TY card person, but do not expect the same of everyone. However, a nice little note or something would be appreciated since we don't see her and haven't gotten any sort of thank you. Am I being too sensitive or is she being a bit rude?

Assuming we are sure she received it, yes, I think she should have went out of her way to at least extend a thank you (especially since you don't see her often, KWIM)

the other side of it is --- are you sure she got it?

another angle - perhaps she thinks she thanked you already? i would imagine they get a lot of gifts during the crazy holiday season.

maybe you could ask her if you see her or drop off a note seeing if she received it?

it was very nice of you to get her a gift, though.

I would just say that you wanted to make sure she rec'd it...tell her you left it with someone...I ddint get any thank yous either and we gave gift cards!!

That's the thing, we NEVER see her - her hours are different than the hours we drop/pick her up, so she definitely didn't thank us in person - KWIM? And I know she got it because her other teacher told me she gave it to her. I'm probably being a little sensitive but it just irks me that I went out of my way to get her something nice and thoughtful (personalized gift in addition to a GC) and she didn't even say thank you. Oh well!

I gave 3 gifts and still never got a thank you. I'm pizzed.

i only got one thank you out of 4 gifts I gave.

When my kids were in daycare more often than not WE NEVER RECEIVED thank yous and that pizzzzzzzed me off 2!

Rude.

Sorry, I know not everyone agrees but IMO and in that situation it is rude. I have a gift to DS teacher and she said thank you when we handed it to her and then after break she gave me a very nice tank you card.

I dont know..i guess i've gotten over the expecting a thank you note. Im very big on writing thank you's but it seems like a thing thats going by the wayside these days.

DS's teachers wrote on his form a little thank you note to us and said they gave DS a big hug ; and the director always says thank you if I bring something in for the staff..they're very good about writing cards which is nice.

I agree with you though, i'd be annoyed, but what can you do?? doesnt pay to stress over it.
