Would you be annoyed (FB Related)

So I found an old friend on FB. We were literally attached at the hip from the age of like 8 to 14. We lived on the same block and did everything together.

We grew apart in high school.

I found her on FB and wrote her a whole paragraph asking about her family, how she is, what has she been up to? I briefly told her about how I am married and recently had a baby. That was about 2 weeks ago and she just never responded.

She is on fb updating her status everyday so I know she saw it. I am annoyed and my feelings are kinda hurt. To me, I was so excited to find her and catch up, where she clearly can care less. I am thinking about just deleting her.

If you sent her the message via her inbox, she may not see it. DH uses FB all the time but doesn't realize to look at the top that there is a message. Write a comment for her to check her inbox. If she really doesn't respond, then don't sweat it. No need to delete her, give it some time.

I would be annoyed and disappointed. I would take her off my status feed so I don't get all the updates and hope to hear from her. If I didnt hear anything for a while, I would delete. I know it took me or an old friend a while to do the catch up email since in some instances a lot of time went by.

As ashamed as I am to admit it I must say that I am guilty of this. Chat Icon It has happened to me a few times with facebook where someone writes something to me and I see it and think "Oh I will write back in a little while when I have more time" and then ZAP I forget and it is gone from my brain. Eventually I respond and apologize profusely.

I do not do it to be inconsiderate or anything I simply just forget. I have to say I feel lately like FB is a lot of "work" it is like a part-time job!!

But I can understand you being hurtChat Icon

ITA!!!!!! I do this ALL the time, even here sometimes I think I'll write back and then I totally forget. I always feel really awful. If the person wrote me something 'longish' and detailed I'll want to take the time to do the same and then for whatever reason I forget or don't get to it.

ETA: This is actually WHY I deleted my facebook account, it's like you said, I just can't keep up with it!

One of my friends was showing me something on FB via her blackberry and while I was looking at her page I noticed she had 800+ messages in her inbox. Your friend may be one of those, but even so, I understand why your feelings are hurt. Chat Icon
