Would you be interested in this type of LIF event?

We recently had a great event for LIWeddings engaged couples where Relationship Coach Michelle Bianco came and discussed communicating better, love languages, etc. I thought that yeah its great for soon to be wed people but people married a while need a reminder for this stuff as well.

So if we had a life & relationship coach host an event for LIF couples would you be interested in attending? It would be at night during the week. It was advertised as a "couples night out" of sorts.

Some pictures from the event.

Just trying to get feedback before putting something like this together. I personally thought it was great and she gave me some tips to communicate better with my hubby.

Let me know your thoughts, thanks!

Kim

same... I don't know if DH would go... I think it might be nice for a ladies night out even... Like wine and stuff... Let the men stay home, watch the kids, and maybe like a one page cheat sheet of the info that we can bring home to dh.

I think it's a great idea, but i think it may be better suited for women more, KWIM?

Men are not always the best communicators and rarely see that there is an issue and can never pick up hints......can't tell you how many times I have heard, "What's wrong? Did I do something wrong? If I did, just tell me. I'm not a mind reader!"

While I think MEN need these courses more than women (Chat Icon), I do think it may be more beneficial for women to attend to learn how to communicate in a more effective manner when dealing with men.

Plus, most men I know would rather be watching sports or getting a root canal before attending such a course (even if i think it's a great idea)

..............I would love a course on how to be more assertive in life, though - with work, friends, coworkers/bosses.

just some ideas. I browsed her site......very interesting!

No offense to Michelle Bianco or anyone, but a "life coach" does not necessarily have the credentials or training qualifying them to give out such advice. So no, I personally would not be interested.

DH wouldn't go for it. It would be akin to going on an 8 hour car ride with me & my starting with the words "We need to talk..."Chat Icon

DH would never go so I dismissed it immediately but this is an excellent point! It's one session but a life coach is very different than a therapist who is licensed & trained.

Re: Would you be interested in this type of LIF event?

I would love to go. I'm sure DH would fight me on going but I would drag him kicking and screaming. He owes me for all the times he drags me out fishing with him, lol. My girlfriend went to the one they had for liw and she said it was great. Wasn't a therapy session so I wouldn't be worried about the "licensed professional" thing. She said it was more of a fun and light-hearted workshop on getting back to the basics of communicating with each other. She said her and her fiance learned a lot. Count me in if you do it.

Ditto.

And I tend to agree that for a married couple I dont think a life coach has much to offer them.
