Would you bring your umbrella stroller or carriage to Disney?
I am on the fence. If we bring the umbrella stroller it is much easier to lug around but it doesn’t recline that much for napping and the storage is really small underneath.
If we bring the carriage it is much harder to lug around but it reclines all the way back and the storage is much better.
Any thoughts?

Re: Would you bring your umbrella stroller or carriage to Disney?
I've brought both to Disney (although my umbrella stroller (maclaren) reclines) and I will tell you to bring the one that your child is most comfortable in.
If I were you, I would bring the carriage. You'll be doing alot of walking and if he wants to nap, he can comfortably. it'll also be easier for you to feed on the go too.

Is that a Metrolite? I'd take the carriage, better shield from the sun than the Chicco.

Re: Would you bring your umbrella stroller or carriage to Disney?
When we went on the cruise last year we took the carriage with us cuz it reclined and I thought it would be good in case DS fell asleep. It was a pain in the butt to lug around and the best part is that he ended up falling asleep in the carriage only once and the seat was reclined up...
I think you should be fine with the umbrella stroller. If he's tired he'll fall asleep...

I bought an umbrella stroller that reclines. That is a tough call bc I would NEVER bring the full carriage but also what are you gonna do when he wants to sleep. If you dont plan to buy one that reclines bring your umbrella stroller.

I would take the full stroller, not the umbrella.
We're bringing our sit 'n stand. It's big, but we're driving and my little one will need to snooze in the afternoon (even though he gave up naps months ago ). I thought about just taking the umbrella, but I know I'll regret it.

Re: Would you bring your umbrella stroller or carriage to Disney?
You already know my opinion - but I will tell you again anyway
I would go with the carriage.
Thats what we did, and like I have said it is heavy - but it was what Ali was comfortable in.
The other day we put her in the umbrella one we borrowed and she said sideways in it - she looked soooo uncomfortable in it.
Another thing - I am not sure about anyone elses kids - but Ali never slept in her stroller the entire time. We put her in it one night - but that was because she fell asleep in our arms on the bus on the way to the parks.
Honestly, when I asked my friends about it - some have used both and they said since they spend soooo much time in the stroller - you want something comfortable for them.
Just my five cents
eta - and another thing - when we noticed Ali getting tired, since we stayed at Disney we just took her back to the room and she slept there (she is a late napper though - so it was about 3:00-4:00 and then went out for dinner after and back to the park - or to the park for dinner )

Re: Would you bring your umbrella stroller or carriage to Disney?
Sorry!
What i would do is take the carriage and if it doesn't work for disney for the parks, leave it in the room and rent a stroller or buy a 10 dollar one down there
Personally, i'd rather have my dd's be comfy, better protected from the sun, have plenty of storage space for bags-diaper bag, goodies, etc. then worry about it being bulky for the plane and the park.
Does that help

Re: Would you bring your umbrella stroller or carriage to Disney?
Well personally I hated my c5 and we drove so we didn't have room for the graco so we bought this for about 30 bucks at walmart just for wdw...
I had no problem leaving it when he wanted to walk since it wasn't expensive and it folded up alot smaller then the graco for the monorail and whatnot..
It's nice to be able to recline them. my son was just 2 edited to add the snack trays, mommy tray and saddle bnags were awesome Image Attachment(s):

Im still torn about this and Im going in 3 days. Bryan neve naps in his stroller but I guesss you never really know Disney can be tiring. Then again I dont want to lug a heavy duty stoller around either AHHHH

Re: Would you bring your umbrella stroller or carriage to Disney?
See this is how I looked at it with the stroller:
- Like I said before this is the stroller we used all of the time, so she is used to it
- My kid isn't the greatest eater - so therefore, I could get her to eat in the stroller - whether it was food or snacks)
- She likes to have her sippy cups at all time (or most of the time), therefore the sippy cup was in her tray most of the time.
- We also brought a rain cover for the stroller, we were able to store it in the basket underneath - with our sweaters, and backpack (if we didn't feel like carrying it) and my MIL's pocketbook (which helped her out alot)
- I also liked it cause I like have bottled water and I could use the cup holder on top.
- And again the storage, if we bought anything, we could put it in the basket underneath.
---And yes it was a little bit of a pain to lift up into and out of the buses - but honestly it wasn't torture. I think for her age it was perfect. I think when they are older, and umbrella would be sooo much better, cause you don't need diapers, wipes, sippy cups, snacks, blah, blah, blah.
And Jess - you won't be lifting it anyway

i've brought both as well. Different ages. If your DC is under one I suggest the larger stroller. Disney is very safe and has cameras and staff wathing your strollers at all times.

Not necessarily true..people get their stuff stolen all the time at WDW, even their strollers. There is no stroller police per se, so no one would notice if joe smith was taking jane doe's stroller. I think a lot of people let their guard down because it's WDW and people DO take advantage of that (unfortunately)
I always found it to be a pain to lug the heavy stroller on the busses and one of us was always left standing in the back with it since it always took up so much space.
