Also, many streets around High Schools do not allow street parking during the school hours, 7-3 or 4. That is something else to consider.

As a HS teacher who spends most of my life at a high school - NO WAY.

There are ALWAYS groups of obnoxious kids hanging out (I am not saying all kids are obnoxious, but the ones who "hang out" are).

Sadly, the kids who hand out at schools are the ones who don't have good homes to go to and that is where they feel comfortable/safe.

As bad as I feel for them, I don't need to hear them yelling and cursing all day long and during the summer too.

No.

Before and after school, there will either be kids or a line of cars in front of your house everyday. Additionally, there will be litter in front of your house because people will inevitably loiter there.

I'd love to live 2 blocks away, but NOT across the street. I'm a teacher and I see the madhouse that is called bussing in the morning and dismissal in the afternoon! Chat Icon

not a HS...schools are a drug free zone, so kids go just outside the border or across the street to smoke cigarettes.

No. Because I see how crazy it is around both my kids school, which are located smack dab directly in the middle of residential blocks! So no way!

definitely not, especially a high school. sorry.

too many things come to mind immediately that would turn me off and im sure there are more things that get more annoying when you actually live there.

to name a few:
band practice outside, football games. lacrosse practice on a saturday morning, board meetings, back to school night - parking issues, busses, kids smoking in front of my house and throwing their butts on my property, loitering, drivers ed throughout the summer, sports whistles etc.
