If you buy used clothes then it’s no big deal as long as it’s washed and in good condition. I mean people go commando all the time, so if you buy used pants it’s the same thing.
I don’t buy used clothes so it’s a no for me but I don’t see the big deal.
Yeah I don't buy used clothes either. Not because they sleeve me but more because I am a snob and like everything brand new. :
In terms of the cost I got brand new suits from aerie for $16 a piece. And they are gorgeous and good quality. So it's not like I'm breaking the bank on bathing suits

I have for myself and my daughter and don't really care what anyone thinks about it. That's what hot water and soap is for. There are far more gross things that many people do that are far worse for your health.
FYI, not everyone trys on a bathing suit with their underwear on and that paper strip is useless. Look up the Huff post all about it.
I would just worry about washing swimsuits in water hot enough to sterilize them. I thought you had to use cold water to wash swimwear

I’m the same. I actually had gotten an Old Navy suit for $10 bucks and it lasted me 7 years. I have to retire it this year because the boob part doesn’t fit me right anymore and I’m so sad.

Its basically the same thing as buying a "new" one. Those paper strips are useless and do nothing. So you have a bunch of women trying on suits, some with underwear and some without, same with pants, jeans, shorts, skirts and even underwear. I worked in retail for many years and you'd be very surprised by how much germs you'd think you are avoiding by buying "new". I suggest washing anything you buy from a store first before wearing.

So I for the most part only buy my bathing suits online, not from stores. I know someone may have tried it on and sent it back, but i feel like it has less exposure to a million try ons than a bathing suit sitting in a retail store. At least that's my train of thought. Whether or not it's right, who knows. But as long as I can afford to purchase new swimwear I see no reason to buy used. Putting the skeeve factor aside, I find that swimwear stretches out, fades in the sun, fades from the pool, gets snags , etc. I prefer to get something brand new with no wear and tear from the previous owner. Just my preference

Would you buy a used bathing suit?
Nope... I think of all the people who pee in ocean... And just can't imagine putting it on no matter how many times it was washed...

If only you knew the filthiness that goes on in dressing rooms with "new" clothes. And i worked in high end stores.
There are really alot of misconceptions and i find it hilarious how people feel popping the tag and putting it on without washing it is a good idea. People acting like they have no kids who peed or pooped on their clothes but washed it and it was good as new. Same thing here...if you are wearing your new or old garments straight from the store then thats a different story.

I really don't shop in stores. I only buy clothes online. Yeah someone may have tried it on and sent it back, but not hundreds of people like it was sitting in a retail store.
Regardless, what's the solution?

I will never forget the time I worked in retail and someone tried on white pants in the dressing room that had period blood on them. Not to mention all the skin flakes around the waistbands of pants, deodorant stains etc. I much prefer to buy online for this reason as well....
