Would you buy clearance seasonal stuff now for next summer?
I'm so tempted to buy DDs little summer sundresses and rompers for next year. Of course I have no clue what size they will be. 9 mo? 12 mo? And I know I'll file just as cute things next year. But everything is on sale now.
Has anyone bought sale clothes ahead of time for their DC ?

Absolutely! Already bought a bathingsuit for my little one for next summer. My sister has been doing this for a couple of years with her daughter and she saves so much money and then when summer comes next year you already have everything you need

It's easier to do once they are here and you get a feel for their growth curve. You don't know if your DD will be a chub or a little peanut. (My DD is a chub. She is 4 months old and wearing 9 months. Althoung, some stuff is 6 months.)
I bought ahead while I was PG with her. I love shopping sales. I stuck to clothing that would be worn in the later fall, winter and early spring. Dresses that can be layered are safe for most of the year. The summer is a shorter span of time and trickier to get right. I did buy a few things and they ended up being too small.
You also don't want to get carried away and buy to much for her now, because I promise that once she's here, you will go crazy buying more

Tempting but no. Like the PP said, you have no idea what size your baby will be a year from now. DD has a bunch of buddies around her age, and they're all in different size clothes. Save your money.

No. You have no idea what size DC will be next year. I can buy ahead for DS, but I know he's a peanut and a slow grower. He has been that way for a long time. I won't buy ahead for this baby because I have no idea how he or she will grow.

T shirts are the only safe thing for us. Ds is a peanut but at least with tshirts, I can always layer them. I would wait until you have a better idea of how your DC grows.

I am not because we have no idea how big she will be next summer. I did buy a 12 month bathing suit, but I will be travelling in the spring and her and DH are coming me. If it is too big then I will use it in the summer.

Yeah we have no way to tell. They can be small at birth and become chubbs quickly. Or one can be a chub and the other a peanut. I just want to shop!!  Maybe buying coming home outfits will hold me off.

I would love to do this but we are  so thats been the only thing to stop me. I never even considered the fact that depending on how the babes body type is, there could be such a drastic difference in size.

DD is 18 m today and has just started wearing 24 m and 2T clothes. But she was in 18 m clothes since she was 11 m old! And she's TINY TINY short, but chubby (like mamma). We have a very long summer season here, so it was easier to buy ahead (I'm in NC) but I still had clothes she never wore because they were off-season or wore only once or twice.
As long as you're ok with maybe never using the clothes, it's good to buy some. Get some 12 m and 18 m shorts and I'm sure you'll get some use out of them.  Probably.

i wouldn't, though i would be sorely tempted to buy! you don't know how quickly your baby will grow and you might end up getting stuff that might never be worn at all.

I would only get something really special that you just LOVE. There are ALWAYS sales and you may as well save your money for when you actually know the right size!

No, I wouldn't. You have no real way of knowing what size your baby will be next year.... so you could end up wasting money if the stuff doesn't fit instead of saving money by getting it on sale... so I'd be tempted, but i wouldn't

i bought a few things last summer for this summer but my baby was already here. she was a preemie so i know she wouldn't be too big for 12m stuff so thats what i got. it all fits perfectly with a little room now. i dont think i would buy stuff if i was pregnant because you just never know what size baby you will have and what type of growth pattern they would follow.
