Would you call the ped? Update with more info

Marron was throwing up for several hours last night. I'm not really sure if it continued all night, as I am at work tonight. If she hasn't vomited since about 1am, would you call the doc or just let it go?

She didn't eat any dinner last night or drink either of her 2 last bottles. DH tried to give her a bit of juice but she wouldn't take it.

What do you think?

p/s - she is 9 months old

Re: Would you call the ped?

She most likely has the stomach virus...

I would just try your best to keep her hydrated- and stick to the BRAT diet....

You could call the PED for piece of mind.. BUT he will not be able to do anything for the stomach bug...its just gotta run its course..

Do she have a fever?

ETA- try and get some pedialyte in her!

I would keep her hydrated through the night. Depending on how she feels in the morning, go to a walk-in visit or make an appt.

If she can't keep anything down to the point where she seems lethargic, you need to call. (he's going to send you to the ER - Somewhere there's a thread from Rose825 with a 24 hour clinic).

Hope she feels better!Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Would you call the ped? Update with more info

Well, she woke up very happy and seemed back to normal. I offered her some breakfast and she opened her mouth wide for it (she refused dinner last night). She finished all the breakfast and then vomited while I was getting the bottle ready. Now she is refusing a juice bottle or anything else. She is playing as normal but just won't take anything. Her cheeks are bright red but cool. Her forehead feels warm but the rest of her body is cool. I didn't take her temp 'cause I really don't think she has a fever since her belly and legs are cool. I think I'll wait a bit and try the juice again. She hasn't taken in anything since about 4pm yesterday and that was just yogurt.

Come to think of it, the yogurt was banana flavored and I gave her bananas this morning because she had diarrhea when she woke up. So you think she could have developed an allergy to bananas. I don't think vomiting is considered an allergic reaction, but to food maybe it is?
