Would you offer to pay?
If someone was completely going out of their way to take you to the airport and that person got a speeding ticket, would you at least offer to pay 1/2 of it?

Re: Would you offer to pay?
I don't think so, unless they were speeding so that I'd make my flight.
They may have done me a favor by giving me a ride, but I didn't ask them to speed.
I think I would make it up to them/thank them in another way, like taking them to dinner, buying a bottle them of wine, or returning the favor in some way.

Re: Would you offer to pay?
I'd offer, but doubt they'd take you up on it. I would give them some type of "thank you"

Re: Would you offer to pay?
no way! I wasn't speeding, they disobeyed the law, not me. It was nice of them to take me to the airport and all, but they were speeding!

Re: Would you offer to pay?
No.....I'd offer gas money because I'd appreciate being taken to the airport....but I didn't tell him/her to speed....

I would, to be polite. But if they said no to the offer, I wouldn't push it.

Re: Would you offer to pay?
for all the people that said "yes" or "absolutely" can you explain why?
I mean, if I ASKED you to speed to get me to my plane on time that is one thing, but if not, why should it be my responsibility to pay for your "poor judgement"?
I honestly don't get it

Re: Would you offer to pay?
something somewhat similar happened to me- we took dh's neice away for the weekend- she's 10- and we went through a checkpoint and she wasnt wearing her seatbelt- even though we had just finished telling her to put it on when we got in the car 5 minutes before- anyway, I got a ticket- I expected my sister in law at least to offer.... I would never have taken the money.. she didnt and it bothers me
anyway, long story short, I would offer

Re: Would you offer to pay?
Nope. You asked for a ride. Period. If the person who was nice enough to give you one, its NOT your fault that they were speeding.
What if they had gotten pulled over for DWI? Would you feel obligated to pay for their lawyers fees?
IMO, we are each responsible for out own actions. If someone breaks a law and gets caught, its their own problem.
