Would you rather leave from Islip or LGA ?
I'm booking a trip to Florida in June for DH and I, we are flying into W. Palm Beach to visit his uncle.
I live in Western Suffolk - so the closest airport is Macarthur - and we can fly Southwest Airlines direct and it would be more convenient to get someone to take us there and pick us up since we'll be going from Tuesday to Tuesday.
BUT I have a companion certificate from Delta and if I use that and fly out of LaGuardia I will save $72.00, BUT getting someone to take us there and pick us up will be a little harder since its further away. (My mom would be okay taking us to Islip, but I know she'd be a pain about going to Queens.)
Both are essentially the same times for the flights and direct to W. Palm Beach -- the difference is location, convenience and price.
You think its better to go with convenience and spend $72 more or just figure something out and pay $72 less?

I'd pay the $72 more for Islip since it seems you will have transportation issues to LGA (so you will probably end up spending more in parking or car service fees).
I usually book based on convenience if the difference is less than $100 for two tickets (I'll pick the closer airport, the non stop, etc).

I bet if you had to take a cab both way it would be morethan $72 from where you are so I would leave from Islip and figure the $72 would have beeen your cab fare

The best you could do with the LIRR is take the train to woodside & grab a cab.
In your case, I would fly out of Islip. The $72 savings will be cancelled out by the time & inconvenience of getting to LGA.

This is how I would figure it too!
Plus the headache of the extra travelling is not worth it (especially on the trip home).

Definitely Islip. To me being closer to home when you land is worth the money!

Islip all the way.
I fly from there to West Palm a lot to see my friend, and I LOVE that airport. SO easy to check in (curbside), and getting through security takes no more than 15 minutes in my experiences.

I love flying out of Islip. It is so small there is a lot less of a wait.

I haven't been able to go out of Islip for a while but it's worth even $200 extra to go from there!

Fly out of Islip. The convienence alone is worth more then the $72!
The time it takes to get to and from LGA and then all the extra people trust me it is not worth it.
I fly all the time and whenever I can I fly in and out of Islip!
