would you ring your neighbors doorbell @ 1AM?
to tell them that they left the lights on in their car??? My doorbell rang (I did not hear it) my husband looked out the window from upstairs and saw that the lights were on in one of our cars but no one was at the door....I told him he was crazy to go outside!

If I liked them. It would suck to wake up to a dead battery.

I'd probably try to open the door first and just turn them off, if that didn't work I think I would. I would appreciate the courtesy.

Re: would you ring your neighbors doorbell @ 1AM?
If I were friendly enough to feel comfortable to ring their bell at 1am, then I would also probably have their phone number and would just call them to tell them about the car.

My neighbor did it! She was looking for her 9 yr old daughter because she had fallen asleep on the couch and the girl was not home(ended up she was at a neighbors-who stay up late with their kids so they can sleep late on the weekends)

Re: would you ring your neighbors doorbell @ 1AM?
I would ring their bell.. to save them from a dead battery.
I'd rather be inconvenienced in the middle of the night than to have to deal with a dead battery the next morning.

Re: would you ring your neighbors doorbell @ 1AM?
I once called my neighbors at like 1am to tell them they left there garage door open. I knew that they had a door that went into their living room, which they always left unlocked.
For a light on in a car, probably not.

to me it's different than ringing your doorbell for something not important. leaving the light on in your car will cause a dead battery. it's not that it's just an annoyance.
i have 2 babies under 2. iif i woke up the next day and was alone with my kids, and then realized i had a dead battery, i would be beyond pizzed if i knew a neighbor knew my light was on and didn't tell me. the inconvenience of having my babies wake up vs having a dead battery and being stuck isn't even comparable IMO.
so yes, i would in a heartbeat because a dead battery is nothing to joke about, especially with young kids in the mix. but i would call them first if i had the number.

I agree, I don't care if I'm in the middle of the best sleep of my life... if I left my car lights on, I would definitely hope somebody would tell me regardless of what time it is.

Hey they saved you a dead battery in the am. Worth a 1am doorbell ring if you ask me.

Gonna be blunt here.
Honestly this amazes me that you would say that. This person saved you from having a DEAD car in the am. They were trying to HELP YOU. They shouldn't have even bothered. So b/c your 2 y/o might wake up, you would RATHER a dead vehicle?
Hopefully your neighbors won't care about you anymore, that way you don't get "bothered" when they try to help.
