Re: Would you spend $300 plus on a crib set?
No. I would get a couple of sheets, the dust ruffle, and vallance. Frankly the bumpers and blanket are a waste.

Re: Would you spend $300 plus on a crib set?
In hindsight, no, because you'll never use it. I spent over $200 on Emerson's set and the valances were too short for the window length, the comforter can't be in there with nor can the bumpers. The diaper thing was a total waste of space. The only things I use for all the money I spent is the dust ruffle and the sheet which if I just bought separately I would've spent like $40.

Re: Would you spend $300 plus on a crib set?
I wouldn't. I spent around $130 on mine and got a 12 piece set. From the set, I used the bumpers for about 2 weeks. The bed skirt lasted a few months because I had to drop the mattress to the lowest level. The blanket and pillow were used for show only since babies are not allowed to sleep with them.
The only pieces I'm really using are the sheets, diaper stacker, wall hangings, and valance.

Re: Would you spend $300 plus on a crib set?
No-- everyone says it is a waste of $$$. The dust ruffle and sheets are nice to have, and alot of people use bumpers, even if some don't. The comforter is a complete waste, and will probably never be used.

Re: Would you spend $300 plus on a crib set?
No because it is a waste. It looks nice but eventually you will have to take off the nice bumpers and put breathables and you never use the comforter

Re: Would you spend $300 plus on a crib set?
i cant say i would never- if my financial situation was different and i had 300.00 to spend on a bed set and it was my first kid- then maybe. But this is my 3rd and i know that i could use the money elsewhere.

Re: Would you spend $300 plus on a crib set?
NOpe. I am only getting one at all since you can't buy the diaper stacker and ruffle separate.
We are using the blanket as a wall hanging and are not using the bumpers.
So really it is waste. I am spending 190$ for a ruffle, a stacker and a valance

Re: Would you spend $300 plus on a crib set?
Well I figure, if you register for it and people wanna buy it for ya, why not? But I wouldn't spend my money, especially one that's $300. (though I probably wouldn't register for one for $300...but I tend to have guilt registering for anything in that price range! )

Re: Would you spend $300 plus on a crib set?
I wouldn't. There are certain things I will spend more money on but a crib set isn't one of them.

Re: Would you spend $300 plus on a crib set?
I spent about $250 on Baby K's bedding -
I"m sure I will learn my lesson for baby #2, but for my first, I wanted what I wanted and it was really hard for me to find something I liked, so when I did, I just bought it -
I think whatever you decide to spend is fine - whether it be $50 or $5,000 - As long as you can afford to do it, and you're not putting yourself in debt to buy bedding Get whatever will make you happy ........you can't ALWAYS purchase JUST to be practical !!

Re: Would you spend $300 plus on a crib set?
I spent much more than that on my sons bedding. I will not be making that mistake with #2 being that the only thing on his crib right now are sheets. It was a total waste.

I agree. If you can afford it and it’s something you really love then why not. I know I would, if its something I’ve set on my mind and of course always taking into consideration how much would it affect budget for other things. But as Marisa says you can’t always be practical when making a purchase. It is a very individual thing and you have to weight your options, and ask your self can I afford it, it’s the quality worth it, am I uncomfortable spending that money, do I keep going back to it even though I’m looking at other million options?

Re: Would you spend $300 plus on a crib set?
No. You don't really realize how insignificant it is until after baby comes out, but it's really not worth the $$ unless you have the extra $$ to spend. I bought an entire set and only ended up using the sheets and ruffle, because you can't use the bumpers for so long, nor the blanket.

Nah. Can't use half of that stuff anyway. Just sheets and blankets for us.

Re: Would you spend $300 plus on a crib set?
I found a set I loved and purchased the bumper valances sheet and bed skirt myself. I put the quilt, pillow sham and another sheet on my registry(which were already purchased). The whole thing will be over $300. It's my first baby and I guess I'll learn but I wanted to decorate the nursery and have everything match and look nice!

Re: Would you spend $300 plus on a crib set?
I would rather spend the money on the million other things you need for a baby then buy a whole set and only use 2-3 things from it , even though they are super cute.

Re: Would you spend $300 plus on a crib set?
I think that is a normal price for a full crib set. Originally I was planning to get a full set but after reading up on safety, most of the items in a crib set could potentially be dangerous for the baby. We don't plan to put a quilt, bumpers, pillows, etc. in the crib so the only thing from the crib set we would have used was sheets so we opted not to register for a set.

Re: Would you spend $300 plus on a crib set?
I probably would, the sets I've found are around that price but it's our first and I think maybe the second time around I would reconsider but as of right now probably I would.
