I probably would, the sets I've found are around that price but it's our first and I think maybe the second time around I would reconsider but as of right now probably I would.

Me too. However the set I like is available as a set or a la carte so I can choose the pieces I'd need/want. I think the bedding makes the room.

I've heard the new bumper news flash but will probably use them while the baby is not moving or much older. If I find them to be risky, I'm crafty enough to fashion them into something practical.

Depending on the furniture I end up with, I may use/need the diaper stacker.

In my family, the comforter is typically used when playing on the floor, or bed, lap blanket while rocking or in the stroller. It's a padded blanket that can have many uses.

What I will not spend money on are things like a wipey warmer or fancy garbage pail.

Yes, we did for our first DS because it was a set we loved. We lucked out with this baby and ended up getting a beautiful set on sale...for $32! Chat Icon

We got ours at the shower and it was $200, but we use everything that came with it still and DS is almost 22 months old.

We never took the bumpers out, and now that he is older he uses the quilt.

So, don't assume its a waste.

No. I would get a couple of sheets, the dust ruffle, and vallance. Frankly the bumpers and blanket are a waste.

I did for DD and I am so diapointed with the quality of the set I bought. 19 months later it looks so wore and I only washed it maybe 3 or 4 times in cold water.

Re: Would you spend $300 plus on a crib set?

If I loved it I think I would spend up to $250.

I personally used almost my whole set (not the diaper stacker that it came with)

At 14 months old we use the valance, bed skirt, sheets and bumpers.

When he younger and wasnt as mobile we used the comforter to put on the floor for him to play on. now I dont use it as much. But I LOVE my bedding set so if it had been $250 I would have still bought it

Re: Would you spend $300 plus on a crib set?

Nope. DD's was mostly used for decoration when she wasn't in the crib. You can't use the quilt in the crib when they are small & it's recommended not to use the bumpers either. The only thing from her bedding set that was constantly used was the fitted sheet & the skirt. Not worth $300 for those things IMO. I bought my set for $50 on sale & plan to use it again for this baby.

I did twice, once for my son and then my daughter but I have a corner (triangle) crib.

Biggest waste of my IMO. Never used any of the bedding except for the sheets and dust ruffle.

Re: Would you spend $300 plus on a crib set?

If I really love, love, loved it....maybe. I used my first DD's quilt as a wall hanging so that would be my angle on the quilt. I use crib bumpers so those would be used as well as the other items that come in the ensemble.

Re: Would you spend $300 plus on a crib set?

If I loved it yes...for practicality reasons no. If you have the money go for it but realize those "cute" things bumper quilt etc are not supposed to be used when the baby is in the crib.

DD's set was $200....gorgeous but a waste especially since she don't sleep in her cribChat Icon

DH and I both fell in love with a set in Behrs but it was $514.99. There was no way my kid was going to sleep on a set more expensive then mine LOL. I found it on ebay for $169!!! We are sooo excited and can't wait to get it.

yes, i did. i don't regret it -- it makes the nursery look pretty. Although all you need is the dust ruffle and a set of pretty sheets. Check put pottery barn kids!

i like the bumpers i think it makes it look complete i went to belleni the other day a 4piece set was 1100 bucks

went to bbb yesterday and their sets dont do anything for me i think some pieces are really tacky i loved one girl one and hated all the boy stuff,

its so difficult i loved the belleni stuff it was so unusal but to spend 1100 and have the baby pee on it isnt right,

so confused on what to do.

Re: Would you spend $300 plus on a crib set?

Ok so we DID get a $300 crib set- and it was a total waste- she was hardly in the crib in the beginning.. and by the time she went in there, it really didn't matter that she had the fancy set.

God willing, next child we'll just get the less expensive "separates" that BRU sells and accessorize in other ways- OR we'll get off Ebay or something.

Probably not. I spent that for our king set and I'm still cringing. I can't see spending that much on something that won't be used for too long. JMO.

Re: Would you spend $300 plus on a crib set?

My DS's set was around $300. The only pieces I actually use are the sheet, the bumper for a short time and the valance. Everything else is a waste.

I have no clue why they sell a quilt, pillows and other things since you cant use it. Chat Icon
