Wow, My Grandma is Going Crazy
its sad, but this is a kind of funny story....
my mom just got a phone call from my grandma, heres how it went:
grandma: "can you go to the bank for me to take out money for the funeral, they dont have any money to pay for itl?"
mom: "what? who died?"
grandma: "billy"
mom: "billy?"
grandma: "your BROTHER"
(so now my mom is freaking out, thinking her brohter died)
mom: "billys dead?! what? howd he die?"
grandma: "he got stung by a stringray through the heart"
(silence)
mom: "umm... ma, you mean Steve Irwin?"
(silence)
grandma: "ohhhhhhhhh, i guess i got it confused"
she then yells to my aunt (her other daughter, my moms sister)
"Sharon, nevermind, it was Steve Irwin"

Awww...how old is she? So sad to watch it happen.
I remember when my paternal grandmother was getting to that point she had lost all sense of day and night. She used to call my house at 4AM and when my dad would get out of bed and answer, she would very pleasantly say "so how are you? What are you doing?" Dad would tell her he was sleeping and tell her to go back to bed. She would hang up and call back two minutes later. It was funny and sad.

That is funny...but sad too. It reminds me of my grandfather who passed away from Alzheimer's. He would say the FUNNIEST stuff when he was in the nursing home. Things like, "See that chick over there...she wants me." (ANd he's be referring to a male doctor.) We would be ROLLING and crying at the same time. It's amazing how their mind works.
