Honestly...and I'll get flamed for this, but I think the board is like a popularity contest sometimes. Or like high school or something. There are definitely "cliques" and there are definitely those that aren't in the cool club. I'm not saying that you're not, I'm just saying that sometimes that's how I see it. And I agree with the other poster that said sometimes people get a million responses for the dumbest things and when you have a legitimate question or concern, crickets.
As far as your doggy is concerned, I'm sure he'll be fine. How old is he, anyway?
Oh, and another thing -- 
thanks  he'll be two in April...he's a lab..but he's really big, tall, and a little bit of a nervous nelly...there was a time when I never thought I'd be able to leave him out of the crate...so this is huge for him/me/us...it's just the two of us....so, I guess it seems more important to me then it would to someone with a husband or a child or a life(ha, kidding)...it would just be soo great to know that he feels safe and secure...he has the run of the place at night and while I'm in the shower, etc...if I'm home he's out and about regardless of what I'm doing...the first time I left him alone out of the crate for an hour to go to the grocery store...and he got himself so upset he threw up and was laying against the door when I got home...so it's been a slow process.
