WW at work

sometimes my co-workers can be TOO much. i'm a private person and especially when it comes to weight loss. everytime i get off the scale at least 5 of my co-workers ask how i have done. i feel that if i want to tell them, i will. for the past month of so, i haven't given them a number of gain or lost. i just said i did good. now they keep bothering me to find out the number. i wish they would mind their own buisness. i'm starting to feel more discouraged. i feel like it is a competition. i'm thinking about going to a WW center and leaving the at work program. what do you think? am i being too sensitive?

Re: WW at work

If your already paid up for the at work series, you can definitely take your weigh in book to a center and go to a meeting without dealing with your co-workers. Then don't renew with the next series at work and change to go to centers instead

When I decided to join WW, I did it by going to a center rather then do the at work that was going on at my job for the same reasons, I didn't want to share everything with my coworkers, I preferred going on my own and having things private

Re: WW at work

you're right. weight loss is a private issue for me. my co-workers just don't get it. they think i'm being mean to them by not telling them. Chat Icon
a little support would be better!

Re: WW at work

While I understand you being annoyed and wanting privacy, IMHO, if you are doing WW at work with a group of people they will expect to know and want to know. Sort of like a biggest loser type of thing. If you want privacy re your weight loss, doing WW at work with a group of people just isn't the way to go IMO. Chat Icon

Re: WW at work

It took me a long time to feel comfortable sharing my weight loss information with coworkers. I don't do WW at work, but there was one other woman who was working at it like I was and I'd see her once a week and she'd ask once a week.

I had the luxury though of saying that I didn't weigh myself, so I don't know but I feel great. What if you said to them that you're trying not to get stuck on numbers and that you feel good, thanks for asking....? If you say thanks for asking and then ask them a question about themselves, it could be a graceful way of avoiding the subject.

Why do they need to be around when you weigh in? I'm not familiar with how WW works, do you all do it at the same time? That's rough.

I agree. We did it at work too and I felt the same way.
