WW Leaders
I sent an email yesterday to Weight Watchers asking about employment opportunities (as far as becoming a leader).
Does anyone know if they are hiring? Do you know what type of people they look for?
I've been interested in becoming a leader but always held back because I'm worried members won't take me seriously since I'm so young (I'm 25 but look younger).

Re: WW Leaders
Did you send the email through the employment opportunity address??
If so, it took a few days before I heard anything from them. And first you are a receptionists before you become a leader, you don't just go straight to a leader

Re: WW Leaders
Colleen,
You must be a mind reader. That's EXACTLY how I felt when I went through leader training. I was the youngest person at my training and could've been some of the women's grandaughter. But they all took on to me wonderfully. Even my trainers all knew how uncomfortable I was with the age difference, and that I was so concerned people wouldn't take me seriously. But they all had faith in me and have really helped guide me along the way and helped me find me own way of doing things.
With that said, in 3 1/2 years I've only had one member say those dreaded words "You're so young, what do you know." I very kindly reminded her of my weight loss journey and explained that everyone, regardless of age, has struggles.
They are looking for energetic, exciting people to lead meetings. You can FM me for more info if you want, and you can always tell them I referred you.

This was the case when I started Teri, but not so much anymore. You'd be surprised how many leaders there are now that were never receptionists

Re: WW Leaders
Teri- That was the address I sent it to. I had searched for "employment opportunities" on the website and it came up with that email. I don't mind being a receptionist first if it means I can gradually be a leader.
Laura- Thank you! That makes me feel alot better. I feel like I have the personality to be a leader (and I'm used to standing in front of a room full of people- I'm a teacher!). Is the interview process difficult?

Re: WW Leaders
Oh also, ask at your meeting for the cards for employment. We actually have cards to fill out for lifetimers that are interested in working. I can also give you a few email addresses if you want.
