WWYD - closeing off bathroom access from a kids bedroom?
in our house all of the kids rooms and playroom are upstairs with a full bathroom.
We are planning for baby #2 and that bedroom has it's own access to the bathroom
The room has a large doubledoor closet and a large double window; so 2 walls are lost for furniture.
With the bathroom access we lose a 3rd wall. So we thought to have the doorway closed off.
Do you for some reason foresee that as a problem???
(If anything it avoids fights of who has the bathroom joined to their room, and plus as they get older I can see them leaving it closed more often, o why not just close it)
Thanks for the thoughts!!!

I don't see a problem with doing that. I also think it would head off the problems of fighting over the bathroom.

as long as you can easily walk and access the bathroom from another door, no issues!

Very few DC have a door from their room into a bathroom, so I don't think they would feel deprived. As long as there is a "public" access door (you don't *have* to go through a bedroom to get into it), I don't see a problem with closing off that entrance. It will also give you more space in the bathroom, since you can use that wall where the door was for storage.

Yes there is another entrance from the hall for the bathroom.
It won't create more storage because the way the bathroom is designed it has a double sink (the bedroom access is at the one end) and then on the other end there is a separate room for the toilet and shower......these kids have it better than I did!!!

I'd close it off. I could see leaving it if it was a guest room, but for 1 kid to have the bathroom attached to his/her room, i will probably just cause fights.
