WWYD - Crib related

My DD is 18 mths and HATES her crib...We literally have to rock her to sleep to get her in there. I had like 2 weeks of heaven a month and a half ago-well its gone now. If i put her in even for a minute with all the lights on she screams...

She really acts like shes terrified.

Ive tried "CIO" a couple of nights even though i never wanted to do that. It does NOT work for her, she gets hysterical and started getting hysterical if we even said its time for night night bc she knew what was coming. I will not be doing CIO anymore, its just not working for me.

So she stopped napping bc she hates her crib, I put her on my bed 2 weeks ago for a nap and she slept like a champ. Since then she naps on my bed. But i dont let her sleep the night in my bed.

Well its now 1 hour and 15 mins of my DH trying to get her in her crib. Its getting nuts

So my question is, if it were you, would you convert her crib to the full size bed, get guard rails, put a gate up in her room? This way i can lay her in her bed, lay down with her and she will go to sleep. Shes literally out cold in my bed after 5 mins...

Im worried shes too "young" for a big girl bed, but we cant keep doing this every night

My DD was in a bed at 17 months and was totally fine. She hated the crib and would get hysterical just how you described. She would nap on our bed or the guest bed and was totally content but we tortured ourselves every night at bedtime trying to get her down. And she would wake up like every hour or so all night long so we were repeating the routine over and over until we would give up and put her in our bed. Once her bed came, she was a different baby. She loved getting into bed and finally started sleeping well. With guard rails and a gate, she should be fine.

TY TY for responding!! My DD is exhibiting the exact same behavior...I really think a bed may change it....
