WWYD - Moms of 2+ come in, nap related

So I know you can all understand where I'm coming from with this.

We put Jack down for his nap every day at 1:15. If anything a few minutes late. Never past 1:30. I always found that if he went in earlier he woke up MUCH earlier (like after an hour, versus when he goes down at 1:15 he can sleep anywhere until 3:30-4:30.)

Here's my issue. Tyler sometimes goes down earlier (like today he fell asleep at 12:45. I am so desperate for some quiet/alone time that I decided to put Jack in at 1. I'll risk him waking up earlier today just to get some alone time.

Would you not do this? Would you hold out on the nap just to get a longer one? He's still playing in his crib so I'm praying he won't wake up that much earlier.

If you have any better ideas I'll take that too. I.AM.DESPERATE!

I would do the same thing. Close enough IMO and if he is playing you might not actually lose any time since hopefully he'll fall asleep aroung the same time as always.

My boys overlap for a bit but not much - sometimes 45-minutes. I usually try to hold Colin off until I put Ryan down so there is a little rest time. Now I wish I could rest when they do!!

I have a similar problem. There rooms are right next to each other and TJ's bed and Derek's crib are on the same wall. Derek is not a great napper. If he doesnt fall asleep drinking a bottle the only way I can get him to sleep is in the car seat walking him around my house in the stroller Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I am trying to change that now and get him in the crib. Unfortunately they dont nap the same time. Occasionally I can hold Derek off until 1 and put him down the same time as TJ but Derek will only sleep 1/2 hour or so. TJ will nap 2-3 hours still.

How long will Tyler nap for? Derek naps every 2 hours or so. Even if I put him down for a nap at 12 he will usually end up falling asleep again by 2:30 and TJ is still napping then for another hour or 2.

We are living the same life. Cribs share a wall. Tyler will want to nap halfway into Jack's nap and I'm so scared he'll wake him up early with his crying. I have been giving him a bottle with the swing going, that's been working.

Today it wasn't time for a bottle since he just had lunch so I have to tell you, I let him CIO for about 7 minutes or so. I just came downstairs to wash some bottles bc nothing I was doing to soothe him was working Chat Icon Chat Icon

I find that walking away for a couple minutes is sometimes the best thing to do, especially since a glass of wine at nap time is frowned upon (save that for after dinner/bed time) Chat Icon Chat Icon

I would do the same. As long as my kids weren't crying in the crib I didn't take them out. DD was in her crib 2 weeks ago for 2 hours just playing with her bears. I got what I needed to get done and she was fine. Even though she didn't nap she was able to wine down.
