Re: WWYD if you "THOUGHT" your OB/GYN lied to you...?
I'm not convinced that I would take the view of a doctor who is examining you now over 2 who saw you during the pregnancy in question. The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology does provide doctors with guidelines as to what is necessary and when. Would I ask more questions? Absolutely. I don't think I would go into that assuming that the C-section was unnecessary, though.

Re: WWYD if you "THOUGHT" your OB/GYN lied to you...?
I would research more about it & discuss the reasons for a possible misdiagnosis with my new doctors. Is it something that could have been a difference of opinion or is it clear? Could my "condition" change with pregnancy or post partum? I don't know enough about it. I woudn't confront my old doctor on it but would move on to the new practice.

Re: WWYD if you "THOUGHT" your OB/GYN lied to you...?
I had 3 babies 3 different ob's My first dr examined me and told me i was too small to delivery and would need a c-section. I ended up going into labor, the baby was in distress and I had a c-section.
The second dr said no one could tell i was too small on examination. Told me to have a V-Bac. when my water broke told me I could wait 2-weeks and be okay. When I insisted he made me wait 48 hours anyway. Got induced, labor for 10 hours, tried to push for 2 hours they used spoons and forceps and finally after all the torture agreed to do the section. The baby was hung up in my pelvic bones and had to be pulled out.
Third Dr examined me said I was too small to delivery and scheduled a c-section
Maybe get a second opinion to see.

If it were ME, I would def. confront my first OB in a professional way. I honestly think it may be just a case of differing opinion as to who thought what was necessary....
I think I'd be a bit upset if i were told after everything that the pelvis was fine for a vaginal. It really would make me question the first opinion.

I don't necessarily think the OB/GYN lied.... perhaps the doctor really believed that the patient needed a c/s. People often get 2nd and even 3rd opinions and each one varies.....
I would maybe go back and ask why the doctor felt it necessary but I wouldn't accuse them of lying.
Well said, ITA
I agree too.

Re: WWYD if you "THOUGHT" your OB/GYN lied to you...?
I agree...
This sue-happy mentality makes me sick yes I mentioned "SUE" but that has nothing to do with being "sue happy"
I don't understand why do certain posters try to read into things and call people names that they don't deserve .
You DON'T EVEN KNOW ME!!!
What I said exactly is :"maybe even sue the office depending on the situation."....
If I was "sue happy" my OB/GYN would be the first to be sued after the mistakes she made and things she missed which almost cost me my life and MY BABY'S life. But I didn't bc I am not "sue happy"..... But when I read about other cases of ob/gyn's making mistakes (intentional or unintentional) or lie it makes me very sad and very angry after what I went though.

I would give the old doctor an opportunity to defend his/her decision.
I agree

Re: WWYD if you "THOUGHT" your OB/GYN lied to you...?
I would get another opinion. I'm not familiar with the condition - but I would see another OB - and see who they agree with or IF it is something that they can determine at this point. But I would bring my records with me b.c it might be important for them to see what was written in your charts when making their decision. I would also ask if it is a condition that is only present during pregnancy or is it something that could be easily told post partum or prior to pregnancy (maybe it will be mentioned in your notes that it was discovered earlier).
Since I'm not familiar with the condition - it could also be something that is a "judgement" call where it is not a clear cut condition.
At the very least you want to go to someone you trust and feel comfortable with if you plan to get pregnant again. So if you are not comfortable with the old practice you should switch - and you might not want to confront an OB if you plan to return to them.
The issue for you now - will also be now that you have had a section you might not be a candidate for a VBAC - and of course many doctors do not want to perform them - so that might be something you want to look into if it is important to you.
