WWYD? Need advice bfdng related
Ok my Goal was to get to a year with this... DD hasnt taken my breast since about 6mos .. so for almost 4mos I have been pumping ... I am down to 2x a day and only getting 2oz at each time so she is really getting 4oz of BM per day maybe 5oz on a good day.. Is it not worth it anymore.. Is this 4-5 oz making any difference ? Would you just stop or go to the goal no matter what? It takes about 45 min each session to get this ..

OMG, I just looked at this post on the page of Parenting and thought to myself "I didn't ask a question about breastfeeding last night" So funny!

Pumping is such a pain and to get less than one bottle a day is frustrating.

I would stop 
It seems like you're putting in a lot of work pumping just for that small amount of oz.

I feel like I cant stop!!!! Its sick!! Why is this happening? I would love to stop but I just cant! DH is so supportive with this but he encourages me to keep at it and make it to the yr.. He really is so happy and proud of this .. I almost feel like I am letting him down too.. Do you think this little bit is making a difference? Also I am mixing 2 oz with 4oz of formula.. is that diluting it? I am so upset...

If you feel its not worth it then stop. In my case the last 2 months Bfeeding with DS I could only pump about the same as you and he nursed twice a day for 5 minutes each time. I felt that something was better than nothing and I feel like he's such a healthy boy for it.
i know pumpin stinksss it is a pain....But I felt like every little bit counted.

Why don't you call your pediatrician and ask if there is really a benefit to 4oz a day mixed with formula ?
See if they suggest to keep going or to stop pumping.
It's tough to quit, you committed to something.
I despise pumping at work and want to quit, but I keep going.

do what makes you happy.
I will say though that your year goal was to bf your baby and give yourself for that year.
you did exactly that. you made yourself available to her and you let her take the lead.
please don't make me post the pic of what a child looks like on his first day of unwillingly being weaned. 
I was on the other side of the coin. When i hear of baby's self weaning, I first feel sorry for the mom if she wasn't ready to stop, but then feel a sense of relief for mom and baby. weaning a baby who isn't ready is hard work. heartbreaking work.
i think you most definitely hit your goal, you told your baby she will have you for the year if she wants that.
as for dh, he sounds like a nice guy who is being supportive. they don't know how to deal with this bfing and pumping, they just know boobs as boobs...some men turn difficult, your's sounds like he will support whatever you do. i am sure once you are done, he will celebrate along with you all your hard work and move on.
so, my vote....do what makes you happy, i feel you hit goal

Thank you very much for these responses.. I actually went to the ped today and just got back.. He basically said at this point to do what makes me happy.. Its not hurting her but the benifits are minimal
